“with alacrity”

Greetings everyone!

Although I am not a huge sports fan (my favorite players for all sports are my grandsons!), my husband Matt and I do enjoy watching the Superbowl with family. Generally we root for whomever my son and grandsons are rooting for! (Sigh – Arizona.)

During the Superbowl, one of the announcers said that a player consistently did something “with alacrity.” One of my grandsons asked me what that meant. So I told him: Cheerfully, quickly, with enthusiasm. “We wish you would get ready for bed with alacrity.” 😉

After we talked about it a bit it made me think about how often a client will tell me that they did their spell work because they “thought they had to.” I will then hear how they resented having to do spell work on their target in the first place. Then later on I might hear how I made spells too hard, and why do they have to do all that work to get what they want?

Granted, no one is going to be 100% enthusiastic about doing their spell work; it is after all “work.” But, we have to think about what kind of result we are looking for with spell work. What do you want in return? Do you want resentment? No? Then don’t put resentment into the work. So many people are always asking me, “Why am I the one who has to do all this work? Well, you are the one who wants what you want. That’s why. If you resent working for what you want, are you going to resent it when you get it?? If so, you are already dooming yourself and what you want to eventual failure. Remember, if you are doing spellwork to bring a particular someone special into your life, that someone special did not ask you to do spell work. That was your choice! 🙂

So sometimes things are not so easy. Sometimes they take a lot of time. Sometimes they seem like they will NEVER pay off. 😉 But if you approach your work “with alacrity” you will always reap a reward: reaching your goal, strengthening your spirit, learning something new, etc. All of these are the result of approaching a goal with all you have in you!

How do you do your spellwork and adjunct work? How do you keep your spirits up and your eye fixed firmly on the prize? Do you have some tips and tricks? Just reply into the comment link below!

Love,

Mambo Sam

This is such a terrific and important message! It makes me think of (some time ago) when I asked, “I feel like I should do adjunct work every night, but sometimes I’m tired/don’t feel like doing it. What should I do?” ;p Of course, Mambo told me it was better to do it when I felt good about it and taking days off was okay. However, it’s also easy to fall into the “eh, I’ll do it later, trap.” So now, when I’m feeling a little tired or whatever, I think about the fact that I am dealing with a real (and WONDERFUL) human being here- that I have the honor to be able to tell him things now that I can’t say to his face and celebrate my love for him. It’s important to remember that this isn’t Harry Potter, lol. Sometimes you gotta remind yourself that you’re not just talking to a doll or candles- you’re talking to the person you love. Also, just picturing how it will be for both of you when you achieve your goal is a great motivator in my experience.
Also (and I just have to say this) who ever complained about the “spells being too hard” should know that these are the most “newbie” friendly crafted spells I have ever seen, lol.
It’s so heartwarming to picture you with your grandchildren. I bet you’re a terrific grandma. 🙂
Okay, that’s enough out of me. Let’s hear some more tips!
    Love,

Hi Devon! I do love those boys!! 🙂 It is hard to believe that the oldest one is now 17 and driving and has a girlfriend. Makes Mambo feel OLD. LOL.
Love you, sweetie!!! Miss you, too!

Dearest Mambo Sam, I enjoyed reading your post titled – ->”with alacrity” because everything you said there is true!!! My experience through this journey has been spellwork is not “work” and because I know “exactly” what I want, I enjoy doing every spell casting and adjunct work I can to achieve my goal with love, good energy and achieving a positive outcome – for me failure is not an option! I see the prize at the end and that is my motivation; another factor for myself has been my heart, my heart has guided me and my intuition in the right direction; being surronded by positive individuals and distancing myself from the “toxic individuals” has brought me nothing but positive things into my life – I see my prize every day, many times a day and that is all the motivation I need!

I never thought the spells where too hard. I’ve been working on my HD since end of June and the last few months I have been keeping busy and so I have had less time to do adjunct work on a daily basis (in terms only I don’t do ALL of the adjuncts all in one day) but I do work on my gris gris from my trio and talisman from solo GAW daily. The other adjuncts I rotate during the week and if I have time I will do it all in one day. I noticed that my attitude has been better about it when I don’t seem to focus my whole day on that I have to work on all my adjuncts. Perhaps this may or may not delay my results but I know that my better attitude from not pushing myself constantly will enhance my spellwork and the extracurricular activities and people that I have been meeting lately will put me in a better attitude every time I talk with my HD. Just waiting for intruder to go away!

Well I want to comment about this….I know for myself that I have often got caught up in why things arent happening the way I feel they should, but I have to step back and realize that instead of focusing on what isnt happening I often miss what actually is happening. I was so fixated on what I thought SHOULD happen and would get down until Mambo made me realize what actually was happening and in fact its better. We just have to trust the Lwa and know that they are not going to lead us down a path that isnt good for us. THEY WILL LET US KNOW IF IT ISNT GOOD. For me, I have had to look at my spellwork differently and while it is work, it is my only connection at times to my HD. I want to piggyback on what Devon said, I love talking to my doll because that is the time I can talk to him and share things with him and just “be” with him, and believe me, it took me awhile to get into that habit of doing that but now I hate it when my doll isnt around me. Thanks Mambo!

What an awesome post! Something I find myself doing when I feel “without alacrity” is a white female image candle session for myself. Then I get up and take a little break, and if my enthusiasm returns, then I get back to my adjunct work. So far, this works more often than not. When it doesnt work, then I find something special to do for myself to help me feel better.
