  • Because You Needed to Know… That’s Why!

Hello everyone!  Quite often many of our clients, at some point during their love spell casting, find out things regarding the person they are working on.  A great deal of the time these things may seem like "bad" or "undesirable" things.  However, most of the time these things are found out because you need to know.

In some cases you find out that there is another person involved that you didn’t know about, sometimes it is something about the person’s past that may be what is keeping them from you; there can be many, many things that one finds out.

For most people, finding out these things sends them into a tailspin.  Suddenly there is a lot of negative thinking and worry that the spells aren’t working, or that they aren’t going to get what they want, etc., etc., etc.  But the truth is that most often you NEED to know these things.  Our spell work is not meant to sweep problems under the rug and give you the illusion that everything is okay and you are getting together with the person.  Our spell work is meant to seek out and bring to light what the REAL problems are so that you can deal with them and stand a real chance of being with the person.

Many of you have often heard me say that "spell work brings the truth to light whether you want it to or not."  It is the absolute truth.  Of course none of us wants to hear bad news or negative things, especially in regards to our relationships.  But if we are working on a difficult relationship with our spell work, then it is imperative to know what the real problems and challenges are.  How you deal with the knowledge is most important.

What seems like "negative news" is often Les Lois (the spirits of the Vodou religion) letting you know that "this" is something you need to work on; they are showing you the heart of the challenges of your relationship and letting you know that you still need to work on this subject.  Going downhill and getting depressed and freaking out at these things really isn’t going to help.  Figuring them into your spell work and adjunct work such as candle magick work, love doll work, etc. IS the thing to do with any kind of information that you get.  So when information is brought to you about the person you are working your magick on, think about why you are getting it!

Now don’t misunderstand me, I am completely empathetic to the fact that sometimes it just plain old hurts to find out things that you didn’t know about your intended partner.  I am not saying that you aren’t going to sad or upset.  But unless it is something horrible like he is a serial killer or pedophile (in which case you are being brought that information so that you can RUN AWAY as fast as you can), then you should use that information to properly configure your spell work to account for what you have learned.  Try as best you can to channel all that hurt and upset into something positive such as working on the situation.

Nobody likes to hear bad news, but just try to remember that sometimes it isn’t bad news, it is just information that you need to get your case on track.  🙂

  • Father’s Day!

Greetings everyone – and a Happy Father’s Day to all the good Dads out there.  🙂

I cannot help by remember my own father on this special day.  He has been gone for many years, but his memory and spirit are with me always.  He is the reason for many things in my life:  My ability to cook like a professional chef (he was one, I am not!), my sense of humor, my work ethic, the way I treat people, and so much more.

Even though my Dad never met a bottle of Chivas Regal that he didn’t like, he never sacrificed his family for a drink.  He was a hard working, hard drinking, hard playing man – an old salty dog from the Navy and a straight shooter.  He didn’t believe in lying, even though there were times would that would have been easier.   He believed in treating his employees with fairness and dignity even though most of them were Black at a time in the South where most Black employees weren’t treated well at all.   He took being called by racist names from his friends with aplomb and pragmatism simply saying they were "ignorant" and leaving it at that.

My Dad drove me and my friends anywhere we wanted to go; picking up a gang of pre-teen and then teen girls and putting us in his van and dropping us off at the mall, the lake, and anywhere else we wanted to go.  I almost regretted learning to drive because then Daddy didn’t need to take us anywhere anymore!

He played poker with Mafia guys and I sat on his knee while he did it!  I ran into one of those fellas a couple of years ago in New Orleans.  He was just as old as he could be, but he still remembered me and my father!

My Dad was, by his own admission, far from perfect as a man, but he was absolutely perfect as a father.  Thank you, Daddy!!!

So blessings out there to all the Good Dads!

  • How Do You Get Along with You?

Greetings everyone!   Every day I am blessed to communicate with my clients, friends, and family from Spellmaker!  Many times I am privileged to do a consultation with you or in some other way hear your story and offer you guidance and advice.

More and more lately I find that so many of you have lost sight of who you are.  There are those of you who seem to question your choices so much that you end up not making a choice.  There are others of you who seem to have fallen into self-hate, self-criticism, and general self-loathing.  🙁   It makes me so sad to see this happening!

So that brings up the question that is the title of this post:  How Do You Get Along with You?  Something that I believe happens, especially when you have been working on something such as a relationship case for a long time, is that you tend to lose sight of yourself!  We get so focused on working on the person we wish to have as our love that we forget that we, too, have the role of "self" to play in our own lives!

I find this especially true of my female clients – you end up having such an earnest desire to be loved, that you forget to love the most important person – YOU!  I cannot help but think sometimes that if you put as much effort into loving yourself as you do to your love spell work then that work would come to fruition a heck of a lot faster.

So remember, just take some time today to remember who you are, love yourself, and try to get along with YOU!

  • Intuition — Your Inner Guide

What I loved about this article was the last paragraph! (#4)! I mean, sometimes we can get one little piece of information that just doesnt fit anywhere else …. and its possible to worry it to death or make a mountain out of a mole hill 😉 Sometimes, its just a red herring.

    Intuition – Your Inner Guide

    by: Anne Walsh

Have you ever thought about someone out of the blue?and then they
called you. Have you ever made a decision that everyone else thought
was crazy, but you knew was right for you..and it worked out
perfectly? Have you ever followed your gut instinct on something and
was proved gloriously RIGHT! If any of these have happened to you, you
have experienced the power of intuition. Most of us at some stage wish
we could have an inner guide that would tell us the right thing to do.
The good news is that we do have an inner guide, the bad news is that
    the message can be fuzzy!

Benefits of being guided by intuition

So what are the benefits of following your intuition as opposed to
listening to the promptings of parents, partners and others? First of
all, this begins to give you confidence in your own judgment. It helps
you judge whether this person or opportunity is the right one for
you?even if it may not seem so on paper. Secondly I have never met
anyone who regretted following their intuition. Yes it may have meant
making a difficult decision but it WAS the right ultimate decision for
them. Many great business deals have been gone through on a hunch?or
    intuition?

    Developing your intuition

    1. Recognition: I have relied on intuition for making most of my major
decisions but I still have difficulty sometimes distinguishing between
it and just a passing thought, so here are some guidelines I use?

    a. Feeling: What’s the feeling around it? If it’s gentle that’s
usually a sign of intuition. Something that is fear-based and urgent
    is not intuition.

    b. Persistent: You find that you keep having the same thought about
    something, check it out.

    c. Messages: You find that the issue crops up again in all sorts of
ways..it gets mentioned on the news, you hear it in passing
    conversation.

    2. Trust. So after you have got these messages and confirmation, if
you wish to use this, you actually need to do something about it. You
must learn to trust this feeling. Follow promptings and see where they
    lead you?

    3. Openness: Be open to where intuition can lead you. One thing I can
promise you..is that you will be surprised and delighted by where it
    leads you..

    4. Sometimes it doesn’t mean anything. This is one thing I have
noticed about being guided by intuition. Sometimes hunches and gut
instincts don’t actually seem to mean anything?but we don’t know that
until afterwards?so accept that you may have the odd intuitive red
    herring!

So this week begin paying attention to your hunches. Call that friend,
read that book, make that call?and who knows what delightful things
    could come to your door..

  • Ogoun’s Special Oil

Hello everyone!  As many of you know, we are planning to resume our chat classes on April 23, 2008, with a special ritual to honor one of our favorite lwa, Ogoun Feraille.    He is syncretized with St. George and April 23 is St. George’s feast day.  So we will honor both Ogoun Feraille and St. George on this day.

Many of you have responded to the idea that we are offering a special ritual pack to be used either together with us when we are doing the ritual online or at any other time that you desire.  I am really happy to see such a great response to honoring Ogoun!

In this ritual pack is a special voodoo oil that Parran Matt and I have formulated especially for Ogoun.  This is actually partially a formulation that I came up with several years ago for Ogoun.  However, with some special input from Paran Matt, this oil feels even more powerful than it did to start with!  There is a "Fire and Iron" concept to this oil, representing some of the most venerated aspects of Ogoun.  If it turns out that you all like it as much as we think you will, we will certainly start to carry it on a regular basis.

I cannot wait until you all try it out!

    Love, Mambo SamMonarchogoun

  • Chat Class Resumes Wednesday, April 23!

Greetings everyone!  Happy Sunday to you.  I hope you are enjoying a peaceful and relaxing day.

I am thrilled to announce that we will be resuming our online chat classes on Wednesday, April 23, 2008 at 7:00 p.m. Mountain Time!  If you are not registered for chat may I ask, WHY NOT?  😉   If you are a Spellmaker client, past or present, you are entitled to attend these teaching sessions absolutely free.  Please write to us at office@spellmaker.com for information on how to register for class if you are not already signed up!

April 23 will mark a very special class for us.  This is the traditional day for the feast of St. George.  St. George is often syncretized with one of our favorite lwa – Ogoun!  To that end, we will be starting back to class with a bang by doing a special ritual for Ogoun and St. George to call upon them for strength, power, health, "slaying of dragons," and much, much more.  If there is something/someone that you need to power over to help your spell casting case along, then you don’t want to miss doing this ritual.

We have put together a  special Ogoun/St. George ritual pack  that you can use in conjunction with the online ritual.  You can join in the ritual without using this pack, but obviously it certainly will be greatly enhanced if you can use it.

I look forward to seeing you all in chat class again!

  • Moving Forward vs. Moving On

Happy Saturday everyone.  I hope it is Spring weather where you are and you are enjoying some sunshine and warm breezes!

I wanted to discuss a little bit with you about hearing that dreaded statement, "It's time to move on."  You often hear these words in reference to a lost relationship, loss of someone or something important in your life, job loss, etc.  Some well-meaning friend, relative, or counselor may tell you that it is time to "move on."

The trouble with that statement in general is that no one wants to hear it!  It sounds trite, cliche', and meaningless!  Move on???  I don't want to "move on."  I have an unresolved, unrequited situation.  I have no way to move on!  And that is exactly the problem with being told to move on:  The person telling you that really does have your best interest at heart; they are tired of seeing you unhappy.  Unfortunately, telling you to move on isn't helping because it seems that no one can tell you exactly where it is you are moving on to!

Without resolution of the situation, you cannot move on from it.  For most of us the translation of "move on" is "give up."  Admit failure.  You have been defeated.  You cannot win.  Everything about those two little words screams of a negative impact on your life.  Leave behind what you love.  None of us wants to do that and as human beings most of us will fight and struggle against moving on.  That's because most of the time we should not be moving on, we should be moving forward.

Moving forward is a positive action.  It does not mean that we are giving up, admitting defeat, or accepting failure.  What it does mean is that we are not going to let the situation that we have not yet conquered stop us from moving forward to new and exciting challenges!

Don't get me wrong, I am not saying that moving forward is easy.  But it is easier than "moving on" because it doesn't mean leaving anything behind! Just because you have not achieved the results you want in a situation doesn't mean that you have to move on and leave that situation behind!  However, I do encourage you to always move forward.  Accept new challenges, new people, and new projects into your life.  Don't allow a not-yet-conquered situation to rule your life in such a way that you miss out on the new and wonderful things that can happen to you.  Sometimes we need to compartmentalize our lives in such a way to remember that we still have a particular goal that is long term, but we also want to enjoy the success we can achieve in other goals, too!

If you just wallow in your seeming defeat or if you try to put those unresolved things behind you without resolution, you will find yourself stuck in the same old unhappiness day after day.  As human beings we should always be moving forward.  This does not mean to leave our old hopes and dreams behind.  Take them along for the ride!!  You may even find that you discover new ways to conquer even the most difficult of situations!

    Love, light, and peace,
    Mambo Samantha Corfield
