  • Meditation and Focus Exercise Day 1: Who am I?

Hello, welcome to Day One of our exercise.

FOR ALL DAYS OF THE EXERCISES:  Don't self edit!  Just let your thoughts flow.  Don't worry about punctuation, spelling, etc.  You might find yourself doodling pictures instead of writing words.  There is no wrong "answer" to the questions that will be asked. Don't limit yourself in these exercises. This is about setting your mind and will free.  Don't over think the process – just let it flow. Most of us block our own success. Don't block your mind and spirit in these exercises. This is all about the freedom to succeed in all things.  Please feel free to share your experiences each day in the "comments" section below the post.

Instructions:  Take a few deep breaths and relax yourself. Stare at the picture below with the thought in mind:  "Who am I?"   Spend about 3-5 minutes staring at the picture and asking yourself the same question, "Who am I?" After about 3-5 minutes, write down some of your impressions.  When you are done writing, stare at the picture again and ask yourself the same question, "Who am I?" After about 3-5 minutes, write down your impressions. Repeat the process one more time.  After your final writing down of your impressions (you should have written something down three separate times), close your notebook and do not go back and read your impressions. Get up and get away from your computer for a few minutes, drink some water, or take a short walk.  Come back tomorrow and do Day Two. 🙂

  • 9-Day Meditation and Goal Focus Exercise

    Hello everyone!
Here at Spellmaker we are always concerned with everyone's goals! What do you want? Why did you come to us? How can we help you get what you want?

Over the years I have noticed that the busier we all get, the less time we have to truly focus on our goals. So many times I will have people tell me that they will do "anything" to get the person they love, and yet balk at the idea of having to spend 45 minutes a day doing that "anything." 😉 It isn't their fault entirely, though! We live in a world where we are forced to produce, get ahead, be on top of everything, etc. However, there is a problem with that: The very goals we are trying to achieve often elude us because we are so busy and so rushed to "get ahead" that we forget that those goals need our focus and attention! We end up frustrated, flustered, and feeling a lack of direction – and we see our goals slipping away from us.

Therefore, starting tomorrow, I will publish a nine-day set of meditative and focal exercises that I structured to help you achieve your dreams and goals. For some, it may raise more questions than it answers! However, if you will stick to these exercises for nine days in a row, you will begin to see the benefit! Remember, the answers to ALL that you want to know are inside of you. You are the expert on you! Sometimes you just need a little help to remember that.

No worries if you can't do the nine days in a row right now. This blog will have these exercises on it for as long as it exists, and I expect that to be a very long time. 😉

What you will need for these exercises: About 15 minutes alone time (more if you can). A notebook that you can keep and refer to. You may want to do these exercises many times over your lifetime. If you can keep a notebook and refer back to it, you will see how you grow, change, and achieve! Something to write with. That's about it! Pretty simple.

I look forward to your progress.

    Love,
    Mambo Samantha Corfield

  • Buddhist Prayer.

    Hello everyone, happy  Monday!

Many times I speak with people who want to pray, but don't really want to pray to any particular diety, saint, or being.  They just want to say a prayer of good wishes, love, etc.  I think this Buddhist prayer fits the bill very well and we could all benefit from the beautiful wishes of this prayer:

"May all beings have happiness, and the causes of happiness.
May all be free from sorrow, and the causes of sorrow.
May all never be separated from the sacred happiness
    which is sorrowless.
And may all live in equanimity,
without too much attachment and too much aversion,
And live believing in the equality of all that lives.

May all beings be filled with joy and peace.
    May all beings everywhere,
    The strong and the weak,
    The great and the small,
    The mean and the powerful,
    The short and the long,
    the subtle and the gross:
    May all beings everywhere,
    Seen and unseen,
    Dwelling far off or nearby,
    Being or waiting to become:
May all be filled with lasting joy.
    Let no one deceive another,

Let no one anywhere despise another,
Let no one out of anger or resentment
Wish suffering on anyone at all.
Just as a mother with her own life
Protects her child, her only child, from harm,
    So within yourself let grow
A boundless love for all creatures.

Let your love flow outward through the universe,
To its height, its depth, its broad extent,
A limitless love, without hatred or enmity.
Then as you stand or walk,
    Sit or lie down,
As long as you are awake,
    Strive for this with a one-pointed mind;
Your life will bring heaven to earth."

    ———–end of prayer————–

Now, of course, it is a great accomplishment to pray this prayer and FEEL it truly.  However, I do think that there is a great deal of power in this prayer and a great deal of help for all who pray it.

  • Focused Meditation

Hello everyone!  Very often clients tell me that they have trouble focusing when doing the "reflection" part of their love spell work.  They find that their mind wanders and they don’t feel that they are focused enough on what they are trying to do.

The article below by Kathy Glass, M.S. instructs on how to do focused meditation. I have added some notes here and there to illustrate how one might use this to focus on their petitions for spell work.  Additionally, using this exercise just to learn to focus, without involving your spell work at all, will help you when you DO go back to your spell work.

    FOCUSED MEDITATION

This type of meditation involves focusing on something intently as a way of staying in the present moment and turning off your internal dialogue. Many people find this type of meditation easier to practice than classic meditation where you focus on nothing to quiet your mind. With focused meditation, you can choose to focus on almost anything that involves the senses, including sounds, visual pieces, tactile sensations, tastes and smells, and even the your own breathing! Here’s how:

    Here’s How:

Choose a target for your focus. The sound of a metronome, the smell of incense, or a pleasing picture are all popular choices.  Get into a comfortable position, and relax your body. Turn your attention to your chosen target, and take in the sensation it provides. Focus on the sound, smell, sight, etc. and simply experience what it has to offer. The idea is not to think about it, but simply to experience it, being fully present in the moment.   Mambo’s Note:  If you are doing spell work and using this exercise to focus on your petition or goal for the spell work, you could use either a picture that represents the successful outcome of your spell work to you.  You could also use the product you are using as the focal point – candle, doll, talisman, etc.  In this way you can allow yourself to relax into the meditation and simply focus on the outcome.  This is not to say that this replaces the rest of what you do in the spell work, but is a way to help you focus on the outcome.

    1. If your internal voice starts to analyze it, or begins to rehash stressful situations of the day, worry about the future, make a list for grocery shopping, or anything else, gently turn your attention back to your chosen target and the sensation it provides. Let your mind stay quiet and clear.
    2. If you find your mind engaging you and realize that you’re not being fully present with the sensations of your chosen target, don’t let your inner perfectionist beat you up for ‘doing it wrong’; simply congratulate yourself for noticing, and return back to the present moment and the sensations it has to offer.
    3. That’s it. It may sound a little strange or difficult to understand as you’re reading this, but as you practice this type of meditation, it will become easier and make more sense. The more you practice, the more benefits you will experience. Enjoy!

    Tips:

    1. Give it time. Meditation often takes practice. If you’re expecting to do it ‘perfectly’, you may actually create more stress for yourself than you relieve, and you won’t want to stick with it.
    2. Start with shorter sessions—like five minutes—and work your way up to longer sessions—like 30. With practice, this type of meditation becomes easier and more effective.
    3. If the experience is frustrating for you and you don’t really want to continue, you may find more success with other types of meditation.

    What You Need:

    • Some quiet, private time.
    • Comfortable clothes.
    • A willing attitude and an open mind.

    End of Article

Focusing on a goal, petition, or reflection during spell work is often the biggest challenge that my clients have to overcome.  Doing this exercise will definitely help you if lack of focus is a challenge that you have.

  • Raja Yoga

Greetings everyone!   I did hear from several of you that you tried The Pink Bubble meditation!   I am so glad that you did.  It is easy to use and something you can use in conjunction with your love spell work or any other spell work.

Now I wanted to share some things with you about Raja Yoga meditation.  This is a little more complex but it can still be so very useful to you if you give it some time and try it.  Many times during our spell work, we have a tendency to get frustrated, negative, and just start to feel like nothing is going our way.  Well, as you know, just feeling that way has a tendency to bring a negative spin to your spell work and can cause ill effects!  So then we are in this vicious cycle of not feeling good because things aren’t happening for us and things aren’t happening for us because we are not feeling good about them!

On our forum and in our blogs we discuss many different ways to cope with these feelings.  Meditation is another coping mechanism that can help you clear out the negativity and make a peaceful path to getting your goals!

In a recent post on Sister Bridget’s Blog there was a discussion about "relinquishing control."  Meditation is also a great way to achieve that goal.  When we truly  meditate and set ourselves free, even if it is just for a few minutes, we set the stage for positive energy flow and stop trying to control every little thing in our lives.

    Raja Yoga Meditation philosophy

The basis for attaining an experience in raja yoga meditation in to understand the self and the mind. The human mind is the most creative, powerful and wonderful "instrument" we possess. Using this energy called mind we have been able to search the deepest oceans, send humans to the moon and scan the molecular fabric of the building blocks of nature. But have we found our true self? We have become the most educated and civilized society in our history, but are we civil towards each other?

The soul has three main faculties; the mind or consciousness, the intellect and the subconscious.

Thoughts flow from the sub conscious mind to the conscious mind. Feelings and emotions form in accordance with the montage of thoughts flowing in the mind. Therefore our state of mind at any given moment is determined by the thoughts in our consciousness, and also with the feelings that we associate with those thoughts. Since our sub consciousness contains all our previous thoughts and experiences, it is necessary to selectively control the flow of thoughts that emerges from the sub conscious mind.

The intellect is the controller which is used to discriminate so that only positive and benevolent thoughts flow into our mind. With meditation or deep contemplation, the individual is able to strengthen and sharpen the intellect. The end result is a constant state of well being. If we are able to understand the self as the source of energy that creates our feelings, then the following will become our aims.

Become aware of our state of mind and of the thoughts that flows into the mind from our subconscious.
Strengthen the intellect so that the individual can discriminate and thereby only allow positive and peaceful thoughts to flow into the mind.
Through this process of self development the individual develops more control over the mind.

Dadi Prakashmani, Dadi Janki and Dadi Gulzar are the spiritual leaders of the Raja Yoga meditation organization. They are the embodiment of soul consciousness, filled with love, light and happiness.

  • The Pink Bubble Meditation

Hello everyone!  Have you attempted meditation?  Meditation has been around for centuries and is used for many different manifestations of life:  health, love, anger management, relaxation, etc.  There are literally thousands of ways to meditate and assist in the manifestation of your goals.

In spell work we are often trying to attain a particular goal:  It may be love, money, a job, etc.  Whatever our reason for doing the spell work, adding in some creative meditations can certainly be a way of assisting your situation.

Over the upcoming weeks, I would like to share with you some of my favorite meditation techniques. I hope you enjoy them!  The meditation technique below, the "Pink Bubble Meditation", is a wonderful meditation to use if you are working with our favorite love lwa, Erzulie Freda or working with pink candle magick or any other love magick.  🙂

    Love, Mambo Sam

    Pink Bubble Meditation Technique

This meditation is simple and wonderfully effective.
    Exercise:

    • Sit or lie down comfortably, close your eyes and breathe deeply, slowly, and naturally. Gradually relax and feel this meditation taking you deeper and deeper.
    • Imagine something that you would like to manifest. Imagine that is already happened.
    • Picture it as clearly as possibly in your mind. Now in your mind’s eye surround your fantasy with a pink bubble; put your goal inside the bubble. Pink is the color associated with the heart, and if this color vibrations surrounds whatever you visualize, it bring to you only that which is in perfect affinity with your being.
    • The third step is to let go of your bubble and imagine it floating off into the universe, still containing your vision. This symbolizes that you are emotionally ‘letting go” of it.
    • Now it’s free to float around the universe, attracting and gathering energy for it’s manifestation.
