However, in Europe they called it the Rose Moon.<br \/>\nAlso because the relatively short season for harvesting strawberries<br \/>\ncomes each year during the month of June . . . so the full Moon that<br \/>\noccurs during that month was christened for the strawberry!<\/p>\n<p>The Green Corn Moon, The Flower Moon, The Planting Moon.<\/p>\n<p>It is sometimes known as the Full Flower Moon since in most areas of the country flowers are abundant.<\/p>\n<p>The Honey Moon as this is typically the first month in North America when honey can be harvested.<\/p>\n<p>Lotus Moon in Chinese astrology.<\/p>\n<p>Moon of the Horses in Celtic Lore.<\/p>\n<p>Native Americans did not domesticate cows, so it was these settlers who<br \/>\nnamed the May full moon the Milk Moon. During May cows, goats, and<br \/>\nsheep enjoy sprouting weeds, grasses, and herbs in the pastures and<br \/>\nproduce lots of rich milk, full of vitamins.<\/p>\n<p>Here is a poem about this moon:<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"entry-header\">Flower Moon<br \/><\/h3>\n<p>\nMay Moon, Milk moon, you hide <br \/>\nin the rain. Flower Moon, <\/p>\n<p>\nthis year you bring sorrow, and pain. Old <br \/>\nfriends fade; old knees complain of the rain. <br \/>\nCorn Planting Moon, sixty times I have slept <br \/>\nbeneath you.
