I am very grateful that Sister&#39;s suffering is no more, and that she is in the arms of other departed loved ones. Still, the hole left is a great one. Words are very difficult at this time. I feel the poem below begins to say a bit how things are feeling now. In the days to come, there will be celebrations of Sister&#39;s life and tears for her loss. For now, rest well, Sweet Sister.<\/p>\n<p>Love<\/p>\n<p>Sister Bridget<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" height=\"194\" id=\"rg_hi\" src=\"https:\/\/encrypted-tbn1.google.com\/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcSqchykCaxpWBMz2TfbZqH_wSFhVH0m1tXKgpDUee5sGCQ5W6Fv\" style=\"width: 259px; height: 194px;\" width=\"259\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&#0160;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">On the Loss of a Beloved<\/span> by John O&#39;Donoghue<\/p>\n<p>Though we need to weep your loss,<br \/>You dwell in that safe place in our hearts,<br \/>Where no storm or might or pain can reach you.<\/p>\n<p>Your love was like the dawn<br \/>Brightening over our lives<br \/>Awakening beneath the dark<br \/>A further adventure of colour.<\/p>\n<p>The sound of your voice<br \/>Found for us<br \/>A new music<br \/>That brightened everything.<\/p>\n<p>Whatever you enfolded in your gaze<br \/>Quickened in the joy of its being;<br \/>You placed smiles like flowers<br \/>On the altar of the heart.<br \/>Your mind always sparkled<br \/>With wonder at things.<\/p>\n<p>Though your days here were brief,<br \/>Your spirit was live, awake, complete.<\/p>\n<p>We look towards each other no longer<br \/>From the old distance of our names;<br \/>Now you dwell inside the rhythm of breath,<br \/>As close to us as we are to ourselves.<\/p>\n<p>Though we cannot see you with outward eyes,<br \/>We know our soul&#39;s gaze is upon your face,<br \/>Smiling back at us from within everything<br \/>To which we bring our best refinement.<\/p>\n<p>Let us not look for you only in memory,<br \/>Where we would grow lonely without you.<br \/>You would want us to find you in presence,<br \/>Beside us when beauty brightens,<br \/>When kindness glows<br \/>And music echoes eternal tones.<\/p>\n<p>When orchids brighten the earth,<br \/>Darkest winter has turned to spring;<br \/>May this dark grief flower with hope<br \/>In every heart that loves you.<\/p>\n<p>May you continue to inspire us:<\/p>\n<p>To enter each day with a generous heart.<br \/>To serve the call of courage and love<br \/>Until we see your beautiful face again<br \/>In that land where there is no more separation,<br \/>Where all tears will be wiped from our mind,<br \/>And where we will never lose you again.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers for Sister Candelaria.&#0160; To me, these past few weeks seem quite surreal.
