The Witch's Guide to the Full Buck Moon 2024

Hello, magical friends! 🌕✨ As we approach July 21, 2024, we prepare to welcome the Full Buck Moon, a powerful time for witches and all those who feel connected to the cycles of the moon. This full moon, named for the time of year when the antlers of male deer (bucks) are in full growth, is ripe with potent energy for personal growth, manifestation, and abundance. In this guide, we'll explore the significance of the Full Buck Moon, its rising time, and various ways to harness its magical energy.

The Full Buck Moon: Significance and Symbolism

The Full Buck Moon holds deep symbolism tied to growth, strength, and renewal. As the antlers of bucks reach their peak during this time, it serves as a powerful metaphor for personal and spiritual development. This full moon is an excellent time to focus on:

Personal Growth: Just as the bucks grow their antlers, we can use this period to foster our own growth—whether it’s personal, professional, or spiritual.

Manifestation: The energy of the Full Buck Moon is ideal for setting intentions and manifesting your desires. It’s a time to plant seeds that will grow and flourish in the coming months.

Abundance: This moon phase is associated with abundance and prosperity. It’s a great time to focus on attracting wealth and opportunities into your life.

Strength and Resilience: Like the strong antlers of the bucks, this period encourages us to build our inner strength and resilience.

The Full Buck Moon in 2024 will rise on July 21 at approximately 6:19 a.m. EST. To make the most of its energy, plan your rituals and activities around this time. Watching the moonrise can be a beautiful and meditative experience, helping you connect more deeply with its energy.

Preparing for the Full Buck Moon

    1. Create a Sacred Space. Cleanse your space using sage, palo santo, or your preferred cleansing method. This helps to clear any negative energy and create a welcoming environment for your rituals. Set up an altar with symbols of growth and abundance, such as antlers, green crystals (like aventurine or jade), and fresh greenery.

    2. Gather Your Tools: Candles: Use green or gold candles to represent growth and prosperity. Crystals: Incorporate crystals like citrine, pyrite, and clear quartz to amplify your intentions. Herbs: Use herbs like basil, mint, and chamomile, which are associated with abundance and manifestation.

    3. Set Your Intentions: Take some time to reflect on what you want to manifest during this lunar cycle. Write down your goals and desires on a piece of paper.

Rituals and Practices for the Full Buck Moon

    1. Full Moon Meditation: Find a quiet space where you can sit comfortably and meditate. Visualize the energy of the Full Buck Moon surrounding you, filling you with strength and vitality. Focus on your breath and let go of any tension or negative thoughts.

    2. Moon Bathing: Moon bathing is a simple yet powerful way to absorb the moon’s energy. Find a place where you can sit or lie under the moonlight. Close your eyes and imagine the moon’s light filling you with its nurturing energy. You can also place your crystals and tools outside to cleanse and charge them with lunar energy.

    3. Manifestation Ritual: Write down your intentions on a piece of paper. Light a green or gold candle and hold the paper in your hands. Focus on your desires and visualize them coming to fruition. When you’re ready, burn the paper in the candle flame (safely) as a symbol of releasing your intentions to the universe.

    4. Abundance Spell: Create an abundance spell jar using herbs, crystals, and symbols of prosperity. Fill a small jar with items like basil, mint, citrine, and a small coin. Seal the jar and place it on your altar or somewhere you will see it often. Each time you see the jar, take a moment to reaffirm your intentions for abundance.

    5. Nature Walk and Offerings: Take a walk in nature, preferably in a place where you can see the moonrise. Collect natural items like leaves, flowers, and stones. As you walk, reflect on your intentions and the things you are grateful for. Leave a small offering to the earth as a token of gratitude.

    6. Full Moon Tarot Spread: Use a tarot spread designed for the full moon to gain insights into your current situation and the path ahead. A simple three-card spread can focus on what to release, what to embrace, and what to expect in the coming lunar cycle.

Incorporating the Full Buck Moon into Your Daily Life

    1. Gratitude Journaling: Start a gratitude journal where you write down three things you are grateful for each day. This practice can help you stay focused on the positive aspects of your life and attract more abundance.

    2. Affirmations: Create a set of affirmations related to growth, strength, and abundance. Repeat these affirmations daily to reinforce your intentions and attract positive energy.

    3. Gardening: If you have a garden, spend time tending to your plants. Gardening can be a meditative practice that helps you connect with the earth and the cycles of nature. Planting new seeds or nurturing existing plants can symbolize your intentions for growth.

The Full Buck Moon is a powerful time to harness the energies of growth, strength, and abundance. Whether you celebrate alone or with others, taking time to honor this lunar phase can bring profound insights and transformations. By aligning yourself with the natural rhythms of the moon, you can enhance your magical practice and manifest your deepest desires.

So, gather your tools, set your intentions, and let the magic of the Full Buck Moon illuminate your path. Happy Full Buck Moon, everyone! 🌕✨

Cultivating a Witch’s Garden for Love: A Journey Through Magick and Botany

In the heart of every witch's garden, love blooms—not just in the form of flowers and herbs that grow within its bounds but in the magical intentions that its caretaker weaves into every plant and petal. A garden dedicated to love magick is a powerful tool for attracting affection, fostering self-love, and enhancing romantic connections. This sacred space becomes a living spell, where the energies of the natural world intertwine with the desires of the heart. Let’s explore the enchanting process of creating a witch's garden for love, a sanctuary where plants grow under the watchful eye of Erzulie Freda and the nurturing touch of the earth.

    Choosing the Right Space:

The first step in creating a witch's garden for love is selecting a space that feels welcoming and safe. It should be a place where you can meditate, perform rituals, and tend to your plants with love and intention. Whether it's a small balcony, a corner of your backyard, or even a collection of pots on a windowsill, the key is to choose a space that resonates with your spirit.

    Selecting Plants with Love Energies:

The heart of your garden will be the plants that thrive within it, each selected for their associations with love magick. Consider these enchanting options:

    • Roses: Symbolizing love and passion, roses are a must-have in any love garden. Their thorns remind us that love can protect and defend as fiercely as it can embrace and nurture.
    • Lavender: Known for its calming properties, lavender promotes peace and harmony in relationships. It’s also believed to attract loving energies and gentle affections.
    • Jasmine: This intoxicatingly fragrant flower is associated with prophetic dreams and spiritual love. Planting jasmine can attract spiritual connections and deep, meaningful relationships.
    • Yarrow: Used for centuries in love spells, yarrow enhances courage and love. It’s said to heal emotional wounds and protect the heart.
    • Mint: Mint attracts positive energy and clears obstacles in love. Its refreshing aroma invigorates the spirit, promoting love and understanding.

    Infusing Your Garden with Magick:

Creating a magickal garden involves more than just physical planting. Each step, from sowing seeds to daily care, is an opportunity to infuse your space with intentions and spells:

    • Consecrate Your Seeds and Plants: Before planting, hold your seeds or plants in your hands and visualize your intentions for love enveloping them in a warm, pink light. This ritual sets the stage for growth, both in your garden and in your heart.
    • Moon Water Irrigation: Water your garden with moon-charged water to imbue your plants with lunar energy, enhancing their growth and magickal properties.
    • Crystal Companions: Place rose quartz or green aventurine among your plants. These crystals resonate with love vibrations, amplifying the intentions of your garden.
    • Rituals and Offerings: Consider performing small rituals or leaving offerings in your garden to honor the spirits of nature and the elements. This practice can create a deeper connection between your magickal work and the natural world.

    Harvesting with Gratitude:

As your garden blooms, so too will the manifestations of your intentions. When harvesting, do so with gratitude. Create sachets, teas, or baths with your plants to draw love into your life or to strengthen the bonds you share with others. Remember, the most powerful ingredient in any love magick is the genuine care and intention you put into your practice.

    Cultivating Love Beyond the Garden:

A witch's garden for love is a reflection of the heart of its keeper. It reminds us that love, in all its forms, requires patience, care, and respect to flourish. Beyond the magickal properties of the plants you choose, your garden is a testament to the power of love to transform spaces, relationships, and hearts. Embrace the journey of cultivating your love garden and watch as its beauty and magick unfold in your life, nurturing love’s blossoming in every corner.

  • Love Doll 411! Tips and Tricks for Love Doll Use!

A Voodoo Love Doll is one of the most powerful tools at your disposal! Here's the 411 on the subject of love doll use (deluxe or regular – doesn't matter):

Never, ever do your love doll when you are in any way feeling negative about your HD.

You must be feeling positive, loving, supportive and very much in love with your HD otherwise what are you sending them?????  If you don't feel like doing a doll session, then don't.  It isn't mandatory to do them any set number of days, times, or sessions. You should always approach the love doll like you are going out on a date with your HD. 🙂  You should be happy, positive, and excited that you are going to talk with th

Talk to your doll as if it were your HD.

Don't always ask for something (a call, to return to you, etc.). Instead, some of the sessions simply use the doll to send your love, your support for any troubled times that s/he might be going through, the message that the door is always open, etc.).  Indeed, you can and should use your doll part of the time to ask for all that you are willing to give to be returned, but it is an extremely good tool to use simply to send warm and fuzzy feelings.

If it seems to you that your HD is "overwhelmed" then make your love doll sessions a little more casual.  Do the ritual as instructed, however, maybe just talk about some fun times that you have had in the past or tell your HD what happened to you that day, something like that.  Remember, it is YOUR energy that is getting through to your HD – so careful what you send; if you send pain, chaos, resentment, etc., that is most likely what your HD will receive and probably return to you.

Whether you are using a deluxe love doll or a regular love doll, you are still sending some pretty powerful information out there, so make it count and make it good.  (And really the difference in whether you use a deluxe or a regular love doll is mainly based on your HD; if they are a stubborn cuss, then deluxe in the way to go; if they are more easy going, then regular is the way to go!) Truthfully, I think that everyone who is working on love spells should use a love doll if they can.  (Financial and living concerns come first, that is why I say use if it you can.)  That doll can be your best friend, your open pipeline of communication to your HD, and a powerful tool to send and receive the right kind of messages with your HD.

And, lastly, a little bit of common sense goes a long way:   Think about what you really and truly want your HD to be thinking of you, think of how you want things to remind him/her of you, think of how you want him/her to be picturing you and put that into your doll.

  • Love doll advice!

    Morning!

I came across this post early  this morning in one of my files. It is by my dearly departed friend and mentor Orleanna, the original Spellmaker Caseworker and first ever Khouzhan of our House of the Nine Mysteries. The post talks about a method Orleanna developed to use her Voodoo Love Doll (www.spellmaker.com/doll.htm)  while communicating with her fella via AIM or some form of online messenger. After rereading the post, I can see how this method can also be used while texting! I hope some of you find the information helpful! If you have any questions about using it, or anything else for that matter, please feel free to email me at bridget@spellmaker.com

    Have a wondeful day!

    ************************************************************************

    Begin Post:

Now, here's another little trick I liked to use when I'd use our
    #VDK1 Voodoo Love Doll(tm).

Most of us have computers - that's how you're reading this forum,
that's how you write email, etc.

Most of you also use some type of instant message service like
    AOL's Instant Messenger (AIM).

My love would usually be on online around 10:00 p.m. and we'd
always (and still do) chat via AIM then if he wasn't with me that
    night.

I'd set up the doll in front of my computer. I'd place the doll in front
of the monitor, a candle to each side of the monitor and then the
incense to the very left of the left side candle.

I also made up a "buddy" to represent the intruder as well as all
other lovers - something like "Her&AllOthersButMe"

Take some of the leftover banishing oil from the #5 Leave My
Man Alone Spell(tm) and make a cross over the buddy's name to
represent the intruder and all others. Then take any leftover love
oil and make a cross over your lover's buddy name. Later, wipe
your monitor clean with glass cleaner like Windex.

Now, per the instructions with the doll kit, light the candles and
incense, sprinkle the herbs over the doll (I kept it in a shoe box
for that) and say the chant that comes with the doll kit. I'd do that
just before 10:00 p.m. and then I'd log on when I knew he'd be
    online.

Voila, I'm now actively working magick on him WHILE in contact
with him but he has no idea!

Note: The instructions talk about 13 minutes but you can have a
longer session with a doll - the 13 minutes are more of a
    suggested guideline.

So, after I'd get the doll all set up and done the opening ritual,
then I'd log on and while typing to him via AIM, I'd also say aloud,
"While we type, the doll work is affecting you right now. You're
thinking of the last time we were together and you want me even
more. Your desire for (intruder) is totally leaving and if she's
online now, I'm banishing her from you - anything she types,
you'll hardly pay attention. Your attention is focused on me, solely
on me. You find your thoughts of love for me are getting stronger
and stronger right now as we type."

Then, I'd go into whatever detail for anything specific on my mind
aloud with the doll. For example, suppose I wanted to see him
on a Wednesday night, I'd say aloud with the doll set-up and
candles still burning, "You'll find a way to see me Wednesday.
You'll WANT to see me Wednesday. You miss me and can
hardly wait to see me - you'll find yourself making plans to get in
your car and come over on Wednesday evening." Then I'd type
an IM to him, something like "I look forward to seeing you next
time." And you'd be surprised how often I'd get an IM reply like
"Wednesday night looks good." (Or whatever night I'd have
petitioned for with the doll while I was online then.)

The whole time, he and I are exchanging IM's - and I'm actively
using magick on him WHILE in contact with him - but he has no
    idea!

That's a great way to use a doll, folks :) I know most of my clients
use some type of online messenger service to chat via typing
with the person they love - try setting up the doll for when you do
    that!

I also found beeswax candles to last a long time. I bought red
beeswax candles and used them for my "AIM-doll sessions."
(You can use either purple or red candles with the doll.)

    Light and love,

    Orleanna
  • New Photo Album.

    Hi there!

Here is a new photo album I posted of some photos from my local cemetery. It may sound a bit weird, I know. But the cemetary is quite old, and has been active for more than 250 years! Stones and markers vary greatly, and I really found some of them interesting. This is something I have been wanting to do for a while, so I hope you enjoy!

    Love,

    Sister Bridget

This photo is from HIghgate Cemetary in England, not where I live…I could not resist the dog on the stone. though.

  • Is it okay if I…..

missed a day of my spell work, forgot to light the incense three days in a row, didn't do the reflection part of the spell, and, oh, didn't bother with the sand trail?  Is it okay, Mambo?  Will this mess up my spell work?

    Greetings everyone!

Hardly a day goes by that I don't get someone asking me something "messing up" their spell work because of things they did or didn't do.  Mostly it is after the fact and often is phrased as, "Is it okay that I……?"

Frankly, no, not really, it isn't okay.  For sure things happen sometimes that we cannot control.  However, a lot of what I hear that people did was completely avoidable.  First off, READ the spell kit instructions.  Getting four days into the spell work and figuring out that you forgot a step is really avoidable.  Read the spell kit instructions; read them before you ever start the spell and get your questions answered.  Then, use the instructions.  I don't see how people miss steps when the instructions are clearly meant to be used. You don't have to memorize anything – you follow along the book.

Life can be hectic and get in the way of our spell work!  No one knows that better than me!  Like I said, sometimes it is totally unavoidable to miss parts of spell work, emergencies happen, etc. Truthfully, though, about 95% of the things that people do to mess up their spell work is avoidable.  Be careful and thoughtful about what you are doing.  If you truly, in your heart of hearts, want what you say you want from the spell work, then you should be extremely careful and dedicated to what you are doing.

You have to ask yourself, if I don't care enough to do this spell work right, do I truly want what I think I want? If you feel like the spell is too much work, or too hard to do, or takes too much of your time – do you absolutely, truly want what you think you want?   As most of you know, we do, of course, offer solo castings for those folks who cannot do their own spell work for one reason or another.  That is fine!  But even at that, we send you a Holy Relic card to work with and I cannot believe the number of people who tell me they never used it and, "is that okay?"  NO. It's not okay.  You are sending out a very mixed message to Les Lois, God, and even me about what you want!

A large part of the success of spell work depends on YOU; what do you want, why do you want it, and do you really want it?  What energy are you putting out there?  Please think about that the next time you pick up your work to do it.  If you think your spell work or adjunct work is a pain in your butt and you dread doing it, you should give some serious thought to the goal you think you want.

    Have a great weekend, everyone!

    Love, light, and peace,
    Mambo Samantha Corfield
