  • Staying the Course.

    Greetings everyone!  Recently I was talking to a long-term client of mine who felt like she was confused about her goal in spell work.  She has been working a long time towards a particular goal and while the goal has often seemed in reach, and there has been good progress in her case, she just hasn't quite achieved full results.  She noticed that she recently has become confused about what her true goal is in doing her spell work.

    We talked for awhile about "way back when" when she first came to me and what she wanted then.  It was interesting to see how that goal has shifted and evolved over the years.  However, when we talked about it, even though there are some differences now in the goal, the core goal remains the same. It struck me as really important that she stay the course on her core goal even with the realization that even though there are differences in the goal, the main purpose of the work remains the same.

    This isn't the first time that someone has come to me who seems to have lost sight of why they started working magickally in the first place!  Sometimes the work itself takes on a life of itself and we can mistake the work for the goal! ๐Ÿ™‚

    My recommendation to her was to use a Cosmic Voodoo Destiny Egg in order to help her remember and get back on track with her goal.  Also, if the goal has truly drastically changed, working with this Egg kit will also help with knowing and understanding that.  There is nothing wrong with a goal changing, growing, evolving over time; the only danger lies in not recognizing that change for what it is! Using the Egg to ask for guidance as to "where am I going next" or "where should I be doing next" and listening to that guidance is a really great tool!

    She has reported back to me that after even the very first session she felt re-focused and re-energized on her goal.  She has re-worked her path to her goal in such a way that everything now seems more realistic and true to her.  :-)  Now she no longer feels like she is working towards some nebulous goal that is no longer germane to today's life!   She realized that while the circumstances around her goal have changed, the actual goal has not.  Now she is able to work on those circumstance to uncloud her goal and make it a clear reach for her again!

    Like I said, she certainly isn't the first person to lose sight of her original goal so I thought it would be good to share with you how she used the Destiny Egg to help her out of her own magickal woods!

  • Is it okay if I…..

    missed a day of my spell work, forgot to light the incense three days in a row, didn't do the reflection part of the spell, and, oh, didn't bother with the sand trail?  Is it okay, Mambo?  Will this mess up my spell work?

    Greetings everyone!

    Hardly a day goes by that I don't get someone asking me something "messing up" their spell work because of things they did or didn't do.  Mostly it is after the fact and often is phrased as, "Is it okay that I……?"

    Frankly, no, not really, it isn't okay.  For sure things happen sometimes that we cannot control.  However, a lot of what I hear that people did was completely avoidable.  First off, READ the spell kit instructions.  Getting four days into the spell work and figuring out that you forgot a step is really avoidable.  Read the spell kit instructions; read them before you ever start the spell and get your questions answered.  Then, use the instructions.  I don't see how people miss steps when the instructions are clearly meant to be used. You don't have to memorize anything – you follow along the book.

    Life can be hectic and get in the way of our spell work!  No one knows that better than me!  Like I said, sometimes it is totally unavoidable to miss parts of spell work, emergencies happen, etc. Truthfully, though, about 95% of the things that people do to mess up their spell work is avoidable.  Be careful and thoughtful about what you are doing.  If you truly, in your heart of hearts, want what you say you want from the spell work, then you should be extremely careful and dedicated to what you are doing.

    You have to ask yourself, if I don't care enough to do this spell work right, do I truly want what I think I want? If you feel like the spell is too much work, or too hard to do, or takes too much of your time – do you absolutely, truly want what you think you want?   As most of you know, we do, of course, offer solo castings for those folks who cannot do their own spell work for one reason or another.  That is fine!  But even at that, we send you a Holy Relic card to work with and I cannot believe the number of people who tell me they never used it and, "is that okay?"  NO. It's not okay.  You are sending out a very mixed message to Les Lois, God, and even me about what you want!

    A large part of the success of spell work depends on YOU; what do you want, why do you want it, and do you really want it?  What energy are you putting out there?  Please think about that the next time you pick up your work to do it.  If you think your spell work or adjunct work is a pain in your butt and you dread doing it, you should give some serious thought to the goal you think you want.

    Have a great weekend, everyone!

  • On the right track? Now what?

    Willrogers

    Hello everyone!

    Are you on the right track?  Do you have a spell work goal? Are you focused on what you hope to accomplish?  If you are, then you are on the right track!  To move forward on the right track, though, you still have to work at that goal.

    Knowing the goal and just pining after it simply will not work!  You have to put the "work" in spell work. So many of my good folks out there are just on the brink of success with their spell work when they seem to just sit down on the track instead of continuing to travel it.  ;-)  Get up, get moving.  Remember that every candle you light, every incense you burn, and every petition that you chant brings you just that much closer to success.

    God, the Ancestors, and Les Lois help those who help themselves.  Get cracking!

  • ‘Memba This?

    Hi everyone!  So over two years ago I published this post below about The Pink Bubble Meditation. Every once in awhile someone asks me about it and I will re-direct them to where the old post is.  However, this week, no less than TEN PEOPLE have mentioned it to me!  LOL.  I truly took this as a sign from Les Lois that there were people out there in need of this meditation exercise so I am simply reposting my old post for probably a whole new audience who needs this pink magick!!

    Whomever is out there that needed this – God bless and here it is!

    ——————

    Hello everyone!  Have you attempted meditation?  Meditation has been around for centuries and is used for many different manifestations of life:  health, love, anger management, relaxation, etc.  There are literally thousands of ways to meditate and assist in the manifestation of your goals.

    In spell work we are often trying to attain a particular goal:  It may be love, money, a job, etc.  Whatever our reason for doing the spell work, adding in some creative meditations can certainly be a way of assisting your situation.

    Over the upcoming weeks, I would like to share with you some of my favorite meditation techniques. I hope you enjoy them!  The meditation technique below, the "Pink Bubble Meditation", is a wonderful meditation to use if you are working with our favorite love lwa, Erzulie Freda or working with pink candle magick or any other love magick.  ๐Ÿ™‚

    Pink Bubble Meditation Technique

    This meditation is simple and wonderfully effective.
    Exercise:

    • Sit or lie down comfortably, close your eyes and breathe deeply, slowly, and naturally. Gradually relax and feel this meditation taking you deeper and deeper.
    • Imagine something that you would like to manifest. Imagine that is already happened.
    • Picture it as clearly as possibly in your mind. Now in your mindโ€™s eye surround your fantasy with a pink bubble; put your goal inside the bubble. Pink is the color associated with the heart, and if this color vibrations surrounds whatever you visualize, it bring to you only that which is in perfect affinity with your being.
    • The third step is to let go of your bubble and imagine it floating off into the universe, still containing your vision. This symbolizes that you are emotionally โ€˜letting goโ€ of it.
    • Now itโ€™s free to float around the universe, attracting and gathering energy for itโ€™s manifestation.

  • Yes You Can!

    CAN'T – A POEM BY EDGAR GUEST

    Can't is the worst word that's written or spoken;
    Doing more harm here than slander and lies;
    On it is many a strong spirit broken,
    And with it many a good purpose dies.
    It springs from the lips of the thoughtless each
    morning
    And robs us of courage we need through the
    day:
    It rings in our ears like a timely-sent warning
    And laughs when we falter and fall by the
    way.

    Can't is the father of feeble endeavor,
    The parent of terror and half-hearted work;
    It weakens the efforts of artisans clever,
    And makes of the toiler an indolent shirk.
    It poisons the soul of the man with a vision.

    It stifles in infancy many a plan;
    It greets honest toiling with open derision
    And mocks at the hopes and the dreams of a
    man.

    Can't is a word none should speak without
    blushing;
    To utter it should be a symbol of shame;
    Ambition and courage it daily is crushing;
    It blights a man's purpose and shortens his
    aim.
    Despise it with all of your hatred of error;
    Refuse it the lodgment it seeks in your brain;
    Arm against it as a creature of terror,
    And all that you dream of you some day shall
    gain.

    Can't is the word that is foe to ambition,
    An enemy ambushed to shatter your will;
    Its prey is forever the man with a mission
    And bows but to courage and patience and
    skill.
    Hate it, with hatred that's deep and undying,
    For once it is welcomed 'twill break any
    man;
    Whatever the goal you are seeking, keep trying
    And answer this demon by saying: "I can."

    "End of Poem"—————————————

    Happy Sunday one and all!  Remember that you CAN! Whatever it is, you truly can do it. I really enjoy this poem because of it's strength in railing against the "can't" attitude.  Written in the 1800's well before the "new age" movement of watered down affirmations, this tells us to HATE the word "can't," to fight against it!

    I love that! Now don't get me wrong, I love a good affirmation as well as the next person – but there is something wonderfully invigorating about this poem and it's healthy hatred of the word can't! ๐Ÿ™‚

  • Workplace Etiquette Article

    Greetings everyone!
    Many of you petitioned for new jobs or getting a job during our Sobo Ritual yesterday. In the spirit of “it has already happened” I am going to assume that many of you who are not working will be working soon!

    In doing Get a Job spells for many people over the years, I have noticed that when they tell me the story of what happened on their last job(s), they often have little insight into why they were unable to keep a job. ๐Ÿ™‚

    This article came across my desk and having had more than a few management jobs in my life, I felt like this was a good one! So many of us walk into the workplace with little or not cognizance of what we should or should not do! Even for a seasoned professional, a little reminder never hurt.

    Since I know many of you out-of-work folks will soon be getting a job here is an article by Rachel Zupek!

    Rachel Zupek, CareerBuilder.com writer

    Some people are men and women of few words — to work in an office with such people is a blessing. Most workers, however, are stuck in a workplace where they hear about everything from a co-worker’s baby-making plans to his estranged relationship with his father.

    Talking about such topics might be OK to share over cocktails with your best friend — they are not OK for the workplace. Because people spend more time at the office with co-workers than anywhere (or anyone) else, some workers have trouble drawing the line between business and friendship, says Susan Solovic, co-founder and CEO of SBTV.com, and author of three books, including “Reinvent Your Career: Attain the Success You Desire and Deserve.” “It’s a social environment as well as a work environment. However, you must remember: While you can be friendly and develop a good rapport, business is business and friendship is friendship.”

    These days, your job security is unstable enough as it is. The last thing you need is to make an off-the-cuff remark that gets you fired (or shunned from the likes of your co-workers). To help keep your career on track, here are 10 things you should never say or discuss in the workplace:

    1. “That’s not my job.” When you boil things down, everyone does things that “aren’t their job.” If everyone complained that a certain task wasn’t in the offer they signed, the labor force would be in more trouble than it already is. If someone asks for your help, take it as a compliment. He or she obviously values your input or thinks your skills would be good fit for the task. Not only will it help earn good office karma (you never know when you’ll need help from other colleagues), but it never looks good to only do the bare minimum. And no boss wants to hear those four words!

    2. “I don’t mind helping you with that.” (With a fake smile pasted on your face.) There’s nothing worse than someone who offers to help and then complains about it later. If you take on a task with a smile but don’t really want to do it, your help is as good as no help at all. When you work without enthusiasm, it’s never your best effort. Plus, don’t say you’ll do something if you have no intention of actually completing the task or you’ll earn a reputation as an unreliable person. Your colleagues are relying on you, so your decision not to follow through impacts their jobs, too.

    3. “Don’t tell anyone I said this, but … ” Anytime you start a sentence with that phrase, you’re asking for one thing: The recipient of your knowledge to, indeed, tell someone you said that. If it’s really a secret, keep it to yourself. Whether you know someone in the office got pregnant by the mail guy or you found out what the boss makes, you’re going to get credit for spreading the news. Plus, if a co-worker is gossiping with you, most likely he or she will gossip about you.

    4. “I haven’t gotten a raise, EVER.” Since most employers base salary increase on productivity (not longevity), asking for a raise based on how long you’ve been with the company or how long it’s been since your last one will tell your boss only that you want more money — not that you deserve it. Instead, prove the raise is merited.

    5. “I’m so … stressed out/busy/sick of working here.” Constant complaints about your workload, stress levels or the company will quickly make you the kind of person who never gets invited to lunch. If you don’t agree with company policies and procedures, address it through official channels or move on.

    6. “I have insert weird, gross or inappropriate medical condition here .” Nobody cares about your aches and pains, the weird fungus on your foot, your infertility woes or the bad gas you got from eating Chinese food last night. To your employer, your constant medical issues make you seem like an expensive, high-risk employee. And to your co-workers, you seem like an attention-seeking hypochondriac.

    7. “Whom did you vote for?” or “What religion are you?” The old adage that you shouldn’t discuss politics or religion is as true today as ever before. People have strong, passionate views on both topics and you may alienate a co-worker or be viewed negatively based on your views in a way that could impact your career.

    8. “I got so trashed last night …” It’s perfectly fine to have fun after work, but don’t brag about your drunken escapades to your boss. The fact that you showed up for work despite still recovering from a massive hangover might be impressive, but it means nothing if you spend the day recounting your activities versus working. Not to mention, sharing that information makes you look unprofessional and unreliable.

    9. “I don’t have time for that.” In case you didn’t realize, everybody’s busy. If your boss asks you to do something, chances are it’s not really an option. If your main concern is accomplishing the task on time, be honest and tell that to your boss. Mention how busy your schedule is but that you can accommodate the request if some other projects are rearranged. You’ll show that you take each assignment seriously and only want to turn in your best work.

    10. “I just bought a $1,000 watch for the boss.” While the spirit of keeping up with the Joneses is alive and well in the workplace, constantly sharing how much you spent on gifts, meals or outings will only have others annoyed. Not only will it seem like you’re bragging, but you don’t want others speculating on the lifestyle you’re living — or if you’re

  • More about St. Patrick’s Day Ritual!

    Hello everyone!
    We are really excited to be doing the Sobo ritual again here for St. Patrick's Day. So many of you reported really excellent results with the one we did in December. (Time really flies; it seems like we just did it and here it is March!!)

    It is important to remember, though, that sometimes there are smaller results, or more long term results, that we forget to recognize. I had one client tell me that she did the Sobo ritual, but nothing happened. Then in the next moment she told me that over the last month or so she has had more clients in her business than she ever had before. ๐Ÿ™‚ I did gently point this out to her and she said, "Oh, I didn't look at it that way." Of course, then she did see what I was talking about!

    Results from all rituals can often take some time. Sometimes circumstances have to be rearranged in the background where we never see that happening, so we think "nothing" is happening. Then, when something does happen, sometimes a couple of months down the line, we don't remember to give credit to that which we set in motion!

    In these economic times, that might be especially true of the Sobo ritual. Sure, of course, Sobo wants to help us all. But there need to be the circumstances in which to help us, or perhaps to sometimes help ourselves. Just like the dear client above, sometimes the results might come in ways that help us to help ourselves make more money. Perhaps an opportunity arises to improve your career or work extra or whatever might be possible in your particular circumstances.

    So, okay, all of us are not particularly likely to find a pot o'gold on St. Paddy's Day because we did the Sobo ritual. However, I bet if you are willing to see it, you will see some kind of result from it!

    Of course, to get a result, you have to do it! LOL. Or at least let us do it for you! It's fun. It's still free (unless you want to buy the kit).

    Go visit Sobo at www.spellmaker.com/sobo.htm and send us your ritual request! If you happen to be doing great financially and don't need to have us include you in the ritual, then think about sending in a request on behalf of someone else or just everyone else in general! Hey, there's good karma in that kind of thing, ya know!

  • Working on the Spellmaker Information Board

    Hello everyone!  As most of you have probably noticed, we are working on revamping the old forum into our new Spellmaker Information Board

    After much deliberation with my family and staff, there seemed to be a general consensus that keeping the forum, but turning it into much more of an informational type of resource was the way for us to go.   Although my original intention was for the board to represent an uplifting and spiritual community, it just did not seem to serve that function.  Instead, it seemed to me (and the many clients who have written to me) to have begun to serve the function of having a few people who were down in the dumps work hard to drag everyone else down there with them.   The deleterious effect on spell work from that kind of negativity is monumental!

    Additionally, no matter how many different resources I try, nor how much I pay for web board services, there always seems to be a way for hackers to get in and get people’s email addresses.  So again we were faced with certain members getting ugly, threatening, manipulative, and coercive emails.  ๐Ÿ™   For the life of me, I do not know why people insist on doing this, but definitely the phrase "misery loves company" leaps to mind.

    The other problem that I found dramatically disturbing is the amount of bad advice clients give each other!  Some clients who feel that they have a higher understanding of how the products work actually have NO such special knowledge and we have had to spend a great deal of time fixing the problems that occur from clients taking advice from other clients.

    We have superior customer service and clients do not need to advise each other!  In fact, many cases have been set back greatly by listening to, "my friend from the forum."   The reason we have caseworker support, technical support, phone support, and online chat support is so that you can get the correct information, not supposition from the proliferation of "hey I have used a candle magick kit and know everything" clients who give out erroneous information.

    So, for the good of everyone, we will continue to have the forum, but it will be an informational forum.  The great thing about it is that we will continue to add information there and it will be a great resource for those needing information about products, service to Les Lois, New Orleans Voodoo, and much more over time.  It will all be there in one nice compact place and that will be awesome.

    We also will still continue to answer questions that we feel would benefit the Spellmaker community as a whole.  When you visit the board now, please read the first section about how to use the board.  In there it will give you information on where to send your questions that you would like to see the answers to posted on the board.  If we feel that your question is of benefit to the majority, then the question and answer will be posted on the forum.

    I hope you all enjoy the new format and keep on the look out for more information to be posted there.

    Love, Mambo Sam
