  • Making Healthy Decisions – Part 7

Hello everyone!  Continuing on with our series about Making Healthy Decisions!  (I will do a wrap up of this when it is all done – so you will have the list of questions all in one place!

Today's question to ask yourself in your decision making process is:

Should I be acting or should I be stepping back?

Okay, so this can be a tough one.  Do we wait and "see what happens" or do we jump in take that bull by the horns, wrestle it to the ground, and show it who's boss?  :-)   Living in this microwave-instant message-tweet-email-Facebook status updating-seeminglyinstant gratification world can be detrimental to our decision-making process.  We are beginning to feel that everything needs an instant action!  That just isn't true!  Some things are best left alone, left to marinate, left to give a chance to breathe and perhaps evolve into something else.

Countless times we've all acted too soon or without sufficient information, or we've stepped in where our input wasn't needed (or wanted – what is up with that – it seems that I can hardly even go to the grocery store without someone commenting on what I should be doing/buying, etc. – so strange… anyway…) and muddied circumstances that were already working themselves out.

When you ask yourself, quietly and confidently, what your part is in a given situation, and where to wait (or exit entirely), you'll get a clear idea of your role. If you ask the question and still want to act against the advice of your internal coach, remind yourself that, although life is a series of little dramas, none of them needs a drama queen (or king).

Of course, as with other decision-making processes, it takes some thought to decide when to act and when to step back and see what happens.  Putting these question together with the other questions, however, lets you see that this is just part of a whole process.  Putting the process together will make much more sense in the end!  🙂

  • Moment of Remembrance

    Hello dear readers,

In 1996, a humanitarian organization based in Washington, D.C., known as 'No Greater Love' conducted a survey on children and asked them why do they think there is a holiday on Memorial Day….what did they think it was all about?

Mostly their answers revolved around barbecues and extended weekend parties and celebration.  They hadn't the vaguest idea about the sacrifices of the military personnel in whose honor it is celebrated. One of the children was even quoted as saying that this was the day when swimming pools open!

Thus, the organization came up with the idea of 'National Moment of Remembrance' to remind and especially, let the future generations know about the real meaning of the holiday. The idea clicked with the President and Congress and since 1997, it became a standard American tradition. National Moment of Remembrance requires everybody to keep silent for a minute, exactly at 3.00 pm (local time) when 'Taps' is played and reflect on the glory of those who have shed blood for us.

If you can, please join in at 3:00 p.m. for a moment of silence, prayer, or blessing for those sacrificed in the name of our Freedoms.

Love to all and thanks to all those who serve,

  • Resurrection of Faith

Hello everyone!  In reading my dear Khouzhan Delilah's post about "I'm Losing Faith" I felt it was a good time to repost this that I has posted a few years ago at Easter.  It isn't Easter yet, obviously, but faith has no season.

Faith is not an easy task!  Most of all I believe you should have faith in yourself before anything else!  :-)   After that, the rest of what you have faith in is up to you!

    Love, Mambo

    ———————

REPRINTED FROM 2008:   Greetings friends!  Of course, as many of us celebrate the Easter holiday today, I cannot help but have my thoughts turn to Spring, renewal, and another chance to grow something wonderful.  Every year at this time, I feel refreshed and renewed of spirit – just by the very fact that the plants are starting to bud, my mother-in-law in preparing her garden for the Victory feast that she grows every year, and I do my annual Easter egg hunt for my grandchildren.

Resurrection is also an integral part of the thoughts of Easter and spring.  The story of the resurrection of Christ reminds me that faith is a powerful tool in our lives.  If one is a true believer in the Christian faith, then you believe that the Lord Jesus Christ arose from the dead and ascended into Heaven!  That is a powerful faith!

One of the challenges we often have with faith is it is one of those things that no one can truly explain successfully.  As St. Thomas Aquinas said, “To one who has faith, no explanation is necessary. To one without faith, no explanation is possible.”

I have spoken many times about how easy it is to have any kind of faith when things are going well, but when things are not going well our faith seems to lag.  We wonder if there is anyone anywhere actually out there listening to our pleas!  Is there where you are right now?  Is you faith flagging?  Questioned? Lost altogether? Can your faith be resurrected?  Or will it just lie dormant until things get good for you again and THEN you can believe that there is "something" out there helping us in our day-to-day lives?  And when things do get good again, will you just figure it is about time something good happened, or will you believe that a power stronger than your own human fraility reached out and helped you?

Personally I always believe that Les Lois, God, the Saints, and our Ancestors are ALWAYS listening.  I also believe that we may not always get what we want.  I would never deign to try to explain why that is; my belief is that when I don't get what I want, there is a reason for it.  Sometimes I find out the reason later, sometimes I may never know.

Sometimes I can feel my faith waivering:  Where are they?  Why can't I have what I want right now?  Where is my candy?  I know that happens to you, too!  But it's okay, that petulant six-year-old child lives in all of us.  I think the important thing to remember to do is even in your darkest moment allow yourself some faith.  Even if it is just the tiniest shred of faith, it is still a powerful thing.   Have no doubt: I have had many crises of faith; some really terrible things have happened in my life.  But that candle of faith has always shined in my heart even though it's little flame has been pretty small sometimes.  Don't let anything blow out the candle in your heart!

So on this day when a large portion of the world is celebrating the Resurrection, think about whether or not your faith needs resurrecting.  What can you do to help that along?  The answer is different for everyone.  Sometimes counting what blessings you HAVE received in life can be helpful, but that is not always the answer for everyone.  Sometimes those blessings seem too few and far between!  So there is no easy answer to renewing and resurrecting your faith.  However, I do encourage you to try, sometimes just the very act of trying has profound effects.

I wish you all peace, love, harmony, health, and most of all, faith:  Faith in yourself, faith in your abilities, and faith in being part of the great Cosmic Consciousness of humankind.

Love, light, and peace, Mambo Sam

  • With Love in Your Heart….

and you have to mean it!  🙂

Hello everyone!  I had to take a little break from blogging while Parran Matt was out of town as I had to handle the orders in the office.  :-)  Hopefully I didn't screw up too many of your orders.  If you got something unusual, that was probably my mistake – just let us know!

Anyway, I was recently have a great consultation with a dear client of mine and, as I have on many occasions, I had the guidance that her fellow was feeling like maybe he had made too many mistakes and I felt like he was believing that her door was closed to him.  I encouraged her to use whatever products she had on hand, her love doll, candles, etc., to petition towards him that, yes, they could start over, yes, her door was still open, and yes, things could work out between them; the past could be in the past and they could start over… and then….

came my admonishment, "Honey, you have to MEAN it when you say it!"  :-)

So many people come to me with hurt from their relationship, having been treated badly, cheated on, etc.  However, they still want to be with that person, they still love them.  That part is fine.  However, where the challenge can sometimes come in is that when you are doing this love spell work you absolutely, positively have to do it with pure love in your heart.  You cannot feed your anger, hurt, and negative feelings into your spell work.  I am not saying this is an easy thing to do.  It's hard.  Really hard sometimes.  H owever, love spell work is about LOVE – both giving and receiving.  You have to truly give it to get it.

No, I don't mean you have to take someone's bad treatment of you, that is not what I mean at all.  However, you can use your spell work to try to change that bad treatment, to let the person know that  you don't intend to take that treatment anymore, but it has to be with the love in your heart that you truly feel for them.  However, it is not just WHAT you say, it is also how you FEEL when you say it.  If you are just phoning it in, it isn't going to work for you.

I always recommend to people to not do love spell work when they are feeling angry.  You have to set aside that anger, even if you can just do it for the time of the spell work.  And that is kind of the trick – you can still keep your anger and your hurt (though we want to work on that, too!), just compartmentalize it.  Decide before you start your work to set aside those negative feelings.  You will actually feel much better for that time period, too!  Do those candles or love dolls or spell castings with pure love in your heart for the person you intend to affect with your work.  Just for those minutes, fantasize that nothing bad has ever happened between you – there is just pure love and joy being sent out.  :-)  That will definitely send out the right energy and you will feel it and you will benefit from it, too!

    Try it!

  • On the right track? Now what?

    Willrogers

    Hello everyone!

Are you on the right track?  Do you have a spell work goal? Are you focused on what you hope to accomplish?  If you are, then you are on the right track!  To move forward on the right track, though, you still have to work at that goal.

Knowing the goal and just pining after it simply will not work!  You have to put the "work" in spell work. So many of my good folks out there are just on the brink of success with their spell work when they seem to just sit down on the track instead of continuing to travel it.  ;-)  Get up, get moving.  Remember that every candle you light, every incense you burn, and every petition that you chant brings you just that much closer to success.

God, the Ancestors, and Les Lois help those who help themselves.  Get cracking!

  • Darned Postal Rates!

    Hi everyone,

Just a quick note to say that our Free Shipping is going to have to end soon!  The increases in postal rates (hahahahaha, I just accidently wrote postal "rats" – wonder if I should have just left it that way) over the past couple of years are just making it cost-prohibitive for us.  :-(

We have been really happy to bring this value-added service to our clients over the last couple of years, but it is hitting us hard in the pocket book.  Rather than secretly increase prices and still say that the shipping is "free" like so many retailers do, we would rather actually just tell you the truth and say that we just can't afford to do the free shipping for much longer.

We haven't totally decided yet, but right now we are looking at a $3.00 flat rate for shipping by the method of our choice (usually first class mail), and $6.00 if you want it shipped by Priority Mail.  So this will be for any weight or number of items shipped in the USA, so it will still be relatively inexpensive, just not FREE like we wanted it to be! International Rates and Express Mail rates are charged exactly what we pay, so that will remain the same.

There is also the chance for Free Shipping in the USA to return when this recession is truly over (seriously, when is this going to get better???) and there is more money to go around for everyone!

    Come on, better days!!!!!!

  • ‘Memba This?

Hi everyone!  So over two years ago I published this post below about The Pink Bubble Meditation. Every once in awhile someone asks me about it and I will re-direct them to where the old post is.  However, this week, no less than TEN PEOPLE have mentioned it to me!  LOL.  I truly took this as a sign from Les Lois that there were people out there in need of this meditation exercise so I am simply reposting my old post for probably a whole new audience who needs this pink magick!!

Whomever is out there that needed this – God bless and here it is!

    ——————

Hello everyone!  Have you attempted meditation?  Meditation has been around for centuries and is used for many different manifestations of life:  health, love, anger management, relaxation, etc.  There are literally thousands of ways to meditate and assist in the manifestation of your goals.

In spell work we are often trying to attain a particular goal:  It may be love, money, a job, etc.  Whatever our reason for doing the spell work, adding in some creative meditations can certainly be a way of assisting your situation.

Over the upcoming weeks, I would like to share with you some of my favorite meditation techniques. I hope you enjoy them!  The meditation technique below, the "Pink Bubble Meditation", is a wonderful meditation to use if you are working with our favorite love lwa, Erzulie Freda or working with pink candle magick or any other love magick.  🙂

    Pink Bubble Meditation Technique

This meditation is simple and wonderfully effective.
    Exercise:

    • Sit or lie down comfortably, close your eyes and breathe deeply, slowly, and naturally. Gradually relax and feel this meditation taking you deeper and deeper.
    • Imagine something that you would like to manifest. Imagine that is already happened.
    • Picture it as clearly as possibly in your mind. Now in your mind’s eye surround your fantasy with a pink bubble; put your goal inside the bubble. Pink is the color associated with the heart, and if this color vibrations surrounds whatever you visualize, it bring to you only that which is in perfect affinity with your being.
    • The third step is to let go of your bubble and imagine it floating off into the universe, still containing your vision. This symbolizes that you are emotionally ‘letting go” of it.
    • Now it’s free to float around the universe, attracting and gathering energy for it’s manifestation.

  • The Happy Hive!

Good morning everyone!  I woke up this morning smiling over the thought of what a happy hive we have here at www.spellmaker.com!  :-)  I just want to say some thank you's out there to all the folks that make things happen here.

First off, Parran Matt!  Thank you so much for all that you do to keep the Spellmaker office running smoothly!  From making product to filling orders to just general every day stuff – you are the man and I love you for it and so much MORE! 🙂

To our daughters:  Sister Bridget and Sister Candelaria I cannot say enough about the efforts of these two women to help out wherever possible, and do whatever we ask without question to help the spiritual paths of themselves and others.  They are truly gems.

To our caseworkers:  God bless each and every one of  you!  Our confidential caseworker program is something very unique to Spellmaker.  Every client who desires to have someone on board to help them is welcome to choose or have assigned a confidential caseworker to them!  These very special folks are there to hold hands, make recommendations, offer solace, and in general take care of their clients. Each of them has a unique talent for what they do!

Unfortunately, caseworkers are often met with a lot of negativity and blame as oftentimes sad and angry people lash out at them as the nearest post of whipping. Frankly, sometimes our caseworkers take a beating!  But each of them continues on, understanding that their clients are often hurt, afraid, and lonely and that is the reason for them taking the blame for things they had no control over.  Let's face it, very few people whose lives are going great need a caseworker!  The very need for a caseworker assumes that you are having some challenges in your life!

It would behoove people to remember that caseworkers volunteered for their job and accept no pay for what they do.  It is part of their service to this House and Les Lois!  Thank you, thank you, thank you to those of you who continue to do casework and reach out and help others even in the face of their sometimes seeming ungratefulness!

To tech support:  Thank you so much for all the questions you answer and your tireless good cheer in doing so!

To Darla:  My grandson's mom,and my dear friend, Darla, has been helping us with the phone.  God bless her good cheer and constant great attitude towards clients!  Thank you so much, Darla!

To Khouzhan Sierra:  Thank you for undertaking the reimplementing of the birthday certificate program!  It is a huge job and thank you so much for seeing it through!

To the Novitiates:  Some of you are caseworkers, some of you are Prayer Group Leaders, technical support, writers, bloggers,  plus many more unseen workers! :-)  Those of you who have undertaken your service are doing a wonderful job!  Prayer Group Leaders, Caseworkers, tech support, and the Class Secretary – please accept my thanks for your continued service.  The others, please also accept my thanks for all that you are doing and will do in the future.  You are a great group of students and spiritual novitiates! I appreciate the efforts of all of you who are working towards your goals and ours!

To whomever I forgot to mention:  I love you and appreciate you, but if I forgot to mention you, it is just that I haven't had my two cups of coffee yet!  LOL.

It is great to be here in The Happy Hive with each and every one of you!

If one of these wonderful people has helped you, please give them a shout out!

    Love, light, and peace,

  • For Lazaro.

    Ridiculously, some might say,

I cried all the way home after I

    met you.

But those who would say such

    a thing would never understand

    your sublime

    perfection,

    your precious spirit.

Surely they would never see as

I see into your past and present

    and future all

    at once.

Surely they have never held you

and smelled you and kissed at

    the air because

    you had breathed

    into it.

    So I shall remain ridiculously,

    crazily, and maybe inexplicably,

    a completely smitten

    fan of your

    incredible beingness.

    Thank you for coming to

  • Stress in Social Media?

    Hello everyone,

I read a very intriguing article today that stated that doctors were starting to see stress symptoms caused by people trying to keep up with Facebook, Twitter, etc.  These people felt compelled to keep their statuses updated, pictures uploaded, etc., etc.  When they fell behind, they felt like failures.

In looking back over my fairly short history with social media (just a couple of years at most), I did see where there were times when I felt like needed to add "something" to Facebook or Twitter – otherwise it seemed like I was just sitting stagnant somewhere.  There is, to me, sometimes a huge obligatory feel to catching up on Facebook.

But doesn't this kind of go against the whole idea of social media?  Weren't we supposed to be on Facebook to have fun, catch up with one another, find old friends, reach out to those we love and care about?  Was it ever supposed to be a chore?

I had read quite some time ago about some people thinking that the verb "friending" someone on Facebook demeaned the whole idea of a friend…. that it took away from the very word "friend."

Obviously, as an online business owner, I do feel that I should be on Facebook, not just for family and friends, but because I believe that it offers potential customers of Spellmaker another way to get to know me.  Most of you who do know me, already know that I am big on having customers get to know us. I feel it is important for them to know who they will be not only giving their money to, but who are they entrusting with fragile things such as their love life!  I have always been a big believer in telling pretty much all my personal business to my customers.  LOL.  That has been sometimes a bone of contention with certain family members, but I figure if you are entrusting me with your personal information, turnabout is fair play.

However, on a personal level, how do you feel about social media such as Facebook?  Do you ever feel stressed about it?  Do you feel that it is something you MUST keep up with or do you just want to keep up with it?

One of my  Spellmaker Novitiates recently mentioned in one of her posts about evil Facebook and stalking people on there!  LOL – that is worthy of a whole 'nuther post, but first I would like to get your opinion on social media in general!
