Love Potion #9 – Recipe!

Love Potion #9

* 9 oz. sweet red wine (or use cherry soda, cherry Kool-Aid or cherry juice for non-alcoholics)

* 9 basil leaves

* 9 red rose petals

* 9 cloves

* 9 apple seeds

* 9 drops vanilla extract

* 9 drops strawberry juice

* 9 drops apple juice

* 1 ginseng root, cut into 9 equal pieces (or use 3 powdered ginseng capsules)

You also need:

* 9 pink votive candles

* Cheesecloth

* Wooden Spoon

* airtight contaner to hold the potion (big enough for at least 10oz fluid)

By the light of 9 pink votive candles, put these nine ingredients into a cauldron on the ninth hour of the ninth day of the ninth month of the year. Stir the potion nine times with a wooden spoon, each time reciting the following magickal incantation:

LET THE ONE WHO DRINKS THIS WINE

SHOWER ME WITH LOVE DIVINE.

SWEET LOVE POTION NUMBER NINE

MAKE HIS/HER LOVE FOREVER MINE.

Bring the mixture to a boil and then reduce the heat and let it simmer for nine minutes. Remove the cauldron from the heat and allow the potion to cool off. Blow nine times upon the potion, bless it in the names of The nine love goddesses: Inanna, Ishtar, Astarte, Hathor, Nephthys,  Aphrodite, Venus, Freya, Arianrhod.

And then strain it through a cheesecloth into a clean container. Cover and refrigerate it untill you are ready to serve it to the man  or woman from whom you desire love and affection.

**(Do not allow anyone other than your beloved to look at, touch, or drink the love potion.)

A word of warning: This potion is extremely potent and should be used  with caution. Its results have been reported to be very intense, long-

lasting, and often difficult to control or reverse. So please be absolutely  sure before you give it to an intended lover that he or she is the right

one for you and vice versa.

‘Tis the Season!

Hello good folks!

Seasoned Spellmaker friends and family know the season of which I speak: Love Potion #9 making season!

Remember, Love Potion #9 is made starting 9:00 a.m. on 9/9 – every year! So the time is coming soon!

This potion IS a drinkable potion. It is meant to slip a little bit into your intended's drink or food. It is a classic love potion. There are some other lesser known usages that I will also blog about later.

But what, if you say, you do not have an "intended" or you don't have access? Take heart, make the potion anyway. I feel like making this potion is a great affirmation stating that you will get your intended (or someone better!). Besides, the potion making process is pretty wonderful, soothing, magickal!

So get to planning, get to making! Oh, and as we found out in 9/9/9 – it cans really well! If you are into canning or can boil some water and use a canning jar, it seals up nicely and when we opened one to check it three years later - still perfect!

Voodoo Housecleaning Tip!

Keep a spray bottle with some of Marie Laveau's House Blessing Cleaning Solution handy in your kitchen!

Why, you ask?

1. It smells great and leaves a lovely, clean scent whenever it is used : Countertops, Stovetops, Refrigerator, etc. It simply smells lovely! I have actually started using this solution when cleaning my cat box! I know, I know, but heck – it smells great! I will never use anything else again when scrubbing down the litter pan.

2. Had an unexpected visit from a nosy neighbor or cranky in-law? Spritz the area where they were sitting, and wipe down the door jamb they came and went thru for a quick, energetic clean up!

3. Have an disagreement with someone on the telephone? Take a paper towel damp with House Blessing Solution and wipe down the phone.

4. It is great for the car, too!

5. Keep a spray bottle at work to clean off your desk or work area. You will not believe how much better you feel being there and how lovely the scent! Coworkers will be asking to borrow your cleaning supplies!

Love Potion #9 Will Be Available!

Wheee!!! Okay, there was a really good response from those of you who would like me to go ahead and make the Love Potion #9 on 09/09/09. :-)

Now, of course, as most of you know, generally we simply offer the recipe on our website and everyone makes their own batch of potion as desired. However, we just couldn't resist the idea of making this on 09/09/09 – I mean, we won't get another chance at this in our lifetimes, so that made it pretty irresistible! 🙂

After thinking about it for awhile, what I have decided to do is pressure can it. I can a lot of vegetables, soups, salsa, etc., and so I have a pressure canner and so will end up sealing this potion in 8 ounce jars. This is going to help us all out a lot because it will preserve it much longer than the usual recommended one year to keep this potion!

Realistically speaking, I feel that I can only successfully make about 40 jars for it to be effective. I need to make the potion itself within that 9:00 a.m. hour – so however much I can make in an hour will be what we will have. I am sort of guessing at the 40 jars, but I feel confident I can make that much for sure. The canning process itself will obviously take longer, but the batches would already be made and just needing to be canned.

I have pasted in below the information that I just put up on the website about the potion, buying the potion, etc. Of course, as with everything we sell, we will include an instruction sheet with the jars of potion.

Information concerning purchasing our special batch of 09/09/09 Love Potion #9:
(Please read carefully so that you understand what you are getting!)
Mambo Sam will make a big batch of this potion on 09/09/09. Normally, we do not make and/or sell this potion – we recommend that everyone make their own.
However, since we won't get another chance in our life time to do this again on this amazing date, we have decided to make a batch this year and offer it to those who want it.
Please be aware that normally we would never sell anything that is edible or meant to be taken internally in any way, this will be an exception to that rule! Because we are not licensed to sell anything that anyone would eat or drink, by your purchase of this item you are accepting that this was made in a home kitchen, under extremely clean and as sterile as possible, circumstances.
To further insure the viability and storage of the potion, Mambo Sam will can the potion with a pressure canner. This will preserve it for maximum freshness and the potion will more than likely last much longer than one year. Your potion will come in a heat sealed, 8 ounce glass jar. Until you break the seal, the potion will keep for quite some time!
You will have the option to have her consecrate your particular bottle of potion just in your name (so you decide later upon whom you want to use it) OR in the name of you and someone specific OR have it consecrated for someone else entirely (for instance, if you wanted to give it to someone as a gift).
Since these will be pressure sealed, you will have the option to buy more than one jar in order to keep it longer safely.
We are asking that you order this product separately, apart from other products, and then email us at customerservice@spellmaker.com and tell us how you want your jar(s) consecrated once you have paid for it.
