  • Stop the Nit-Picking! 😉

    Happy Friday, everyone!
It is no surprise to our seasoned clients here at Spellmaker that we are major proponents of recommending that people take as many "real-world" measures as they can to repair their relationships as they do "magickal-world" measures. 🙂

So many times clients will tell us that they are fighting all the time with their intended, or they don't see eye-to-eye, or they are conflicts in their relationship that they just don't seem to be able to resolve. I really liked this particular article that I am linking you to because while it technically has to do with tips for a good marriage, I could easily see how this article could be applied in part to a relationship you want to have or even to a non-romantic relationship.

A lot of articles and so-called relationship gurus seem to think that everyone has been born with some semblance of knowledge of how to sustain a relationship. From what Parran Matt and I see everyday, that just isn't so. Some people need to start from square one and rethink how they approach relationships. I see people making the same mistakes over and over again with little insight into their own role in making a happy relationship.

No one article is going to solve someone's relationship problems, but education about what makes a happy relationship can help you in both the real world and the magickal world. 😉 It can help you to know what you want and how to keep it when you get it!

Feel free to comment on the article!

  • Doing it with your Duck – Part Deux! (Reconsecration Ritual!)

Note:  Well, I don't know why it didn't, but this was supposed to post yesterday as a follow up to the post about using your www.spellmaker.com products that you have laying around. Anyway, see below!

    ————————–

Hello everyone!  So yesterday I was blogging about using the Spellmaker products that you have laying around!  They can't do you much good if you don't actually use them.  ;-)  So to that end, if you have products laying around that are older than a year, it is a really good idea to reconsecrate them.  Even if you don't, they will still have benefit, but it will really up their power if you take the time to reconsecrate them.  You can do more than one product at a time, but I wouldn't do more than three at a time for the best effect, I think.

Note: Where is says "spell kit" it can be any product of ours!

Here is how to reconsecrate your products from Spellmaker that are over a year old:

Note: You can print out this ritual to put by your side to read from it as you reconsecrate the spell kit.

Wash your hands and put the spell kit on some surface like a desk or table. Place a glass of water next to it.

Sit down in front of the kit.

With the index finger of your left hand, trace a cross [like this sign: "+"] in front of the spell kit.

Dip the fingers of your left hand into the glass of water, put your hand out to your left side and shake the water off your fingers three times toward the floor or carpet.  Dip your fingers again into the water and turn around directly behind the spell kit to shake your fingers three times to sprinkle the water. Repeat dipping your fingers into the glass and then shaking your fingers three times to sprinkle water to your right side.

Pick up the glass and drink the rest of the water.

Now, as you're sitting there facing the spell kit, rotate your upper body (from the waist up, similar to using a hula hoop) in a circular motion three times counterclockwise, i.e., start turning to your left.

When you've finished rotating your upper torso three times, then say:

"Hey, Legba, let my words carry to the other side. Open the gates, please, Legba, to let the helpers pass over."

    [Pause]

Clap your hands three times and say aloud to the helper Loi for this spell:

"Baron, Baron, Baron Samedi, come to my aid to reconsecrate this spell kit."

    [Pause]

Now, pick up the spell kit and hold it up, presenting it reverently to our Lois (Papa Legba and Baron Samedi) and say aloud:

"Papa Legba and Baron Samedi, I present this spell kit to you and ask for your blessing to reconsecrate it.  This spell kit was originally blessed and consecrated over a year ago by your servant, Rev. Samantha Kaye.

"Because it's been over a year, that which was once new is now old. But there is no time with you – all things which are old can become new again. I ask now that you send your power to renew all of the strength, power and ingredients for this ________ [insert the name of the spell kit]

"I honor you and ask for your blessings as you reconsecrate this spell kit to renew its power."

[Pause as you're still holding up the spell kit to them.]

    Then say aloud:

"I thank you for your blessings and for reconsecrating this spell kit."

Place the spell kit back on the table or desk.

    Say aloud:

"Baron Samedi, thank you for your help and if it pleases you, you may now depart."

"Papa Legba, thank you and if it pleases you, you may close the gates now and depart."

Your kit is now reconsecrated and ready to use.

  • Love Potion #9 Will Be Available!

Wheee!!!  Okay, there was a really good response from those of you who would like me to go ahead and make the Love Potion #9 on 09/09/09.  :-)

Now, of course, as most of you know, generally we simply offer the recipe on our website and everyone makes their own batch of potion as desired. However, we just couldn't resist the idea of making this on 09/09/09 – I mean, we won't get another chance at this in our lifetimes, so that made it pretty irresistible! 🙂

After thinking about it for awhile, what I have decided to do is pressure can it. I can a lot of vegetables, soups, salsa, etc., and so I have a pressure canner and so will end up sealing this potion in 8 ounce jars. This is going to help us all out a lot because it will preserve it much longer than the usual recommended one year to keep this potion!

Realistically speaking, I feel that I can only successfully make about 40 jars for it to be effective. I need to make the potion itself within that 9:00 a.m. hour – so however much I can make in an hour will be what we will have. I am sort of guessing at the 40 jars, but I feel confident I can make that much for sure. The canning process itself will obviously take longer, but the batches would already be made and just needing to be canned.

I have pasted in below the information that I just put up on the website about the potion, buying the potion, etc. Of course, as with everything we sell, we will include an instruction sheet with the jars of potion.

Naturally, you can still make this potion yourself, as usual! The information about the potion itself, the recipe, and the way to buy the potion is located at www.spellmaker.com/potion9.htm.

Here is the information from the website:

Information concerning purchasing our special batch of 09/09/09 Love Potion #9:

(Please read carefully so that you understand what you are getting!)

  • Mambo Sam will make a big batch of this potion on 09/09/09. Normally, we do not make and/or sell this potion – we recommend that everyone make their own.
  • However, since we won't get another chance in our life time to do this again on this amazing date, we have decided to make a batch this year and offer it to those who want it.
  • Please be aware that normally we would never sell anything that is edible or meant to be taken internally in any way, this will be an exception to that rule! Because we are not licensed to sell anything that anyone would eat or drink, by your purchase of this item you are accepting that this was made in a home kitchen, under extremely clean and as sterile as possible, circumstances.
  • To further insure the viability and storage of the potion, Mambo Sam will can the potion with a pressure canner. This will preserve it for maximum freshness and the potion will more than likely last much longer than one year. Your potion will come in a heat sealed, 8 ounce glass jar. Until you break the seal, the potion will keep for quite some time!
  • You will have the option to have her consecrate your particular bottle of potion just in your name (so you decide later upon whom you want to use it) OR in the name of you and someone specific OR have it consecrated for someone else entirely (for instance, if you wanted to give it to someone as a gift).
  • Since these will be pressure sealed, you will have the option to buy more than one jar in order to keep it longer safely.
  • We are asking that you order this product separately, apart from other products, and then email us at customerservice@spellmaker.com and tell us how you want your jar(s) consecrated once you have paid for it.

  • Working on the comparative religion project!

Hello my good readers!  Thank you all for the great suggestions for different religious aspects you would like explore in blending your magickal and/or Vodou practives with your other religious practices.  You have all given me some great ideas and asked some really wonderful questions.  I will start putting this project together and start posting it next week sometime.

In the meantime, I also wanted to mention that many of you are still doing the 9-day meditation practice that was previously posted. Please do continue to do it and feel free to post your comments even though many people already did the exercises.  Those exercises were truly meant for you to keep and do any time that you feel like you need them.

As you move along in doing those exercises, and do them more often, you will start to become more familiar with them, make them your own, and break them down into pieces.   I will be blogging more about those exercises as well so that we can refine their usage for you.  There are many uses for them to help you reach specific goals and manage different needs.  So, that was definitely not a one-time usage item!  🙂

I hope you are all having a great weekend.

  • What do you see?

    Hello everyone!
So many times when I am speaking with clients on the phone they are looking for a sign of something. They are looking for a sign that their spell work is working, they are looking for a sign that they are being heard. Some people are wondering if something is a sign or did they miss it. Often I think that some people just miss the signs that are presented to them because they are too busy to see them or they just don't know what they are looking for. 🙂 Some signs are not so easy to see. So I thought we could start a little game where we try hard to see things, things that are not quite so apparent. I feel this will help in figuring out how to see the signs that are presented to you. Oh and I think it will be fun, too!

  • Compatibility of Religions and Magick.

    Dear Friends,
Over the years, so many clients have come to me with a concern that their magickal practices, especially things like our love spell kits, potions, etc., might interfere with their own personal religious practices.

Many of us grew up in religions that were based on guilt and have been taught that doing any kind of magickal practices are wrong. Of course, now, most of us don't believe that we are doing anything wrong! However, there is still a question of how to blend these beliefs successfully or if they can even be blended successfully.

Therefore, I am going to be starting a series of posts on comparative religions and how different religions can be used to enhance or parallel your magickal practices.

If you have a particular religion you would like to see featured here, please leave a note below in the comments section. Remember, the comments section is confidential – you choose not to have your name or email address show up at all or use a nickname. So if you have a particular religion that you would like to see how to blend your practices, please let me know.

Also, I would love to hear your own personal ways that you have come up with to blend your magickal and/or Voodoo practices with your own religion!

    Love to all,
    Mambo Sam

  • Defiance.

Hi everyone! Mambo and I watched a movie the other night titled, “Defiance.”  Have you seen this movie?  It is a powerful film about the human spirit, survival, and love.  It is also a true story.  If you have not seen it, I highly recommend it.

One thing among many that really struck me was the love story component to this story.  I don’t really want to give the story away, but love grew in probably the most adverse conditions that one could experience.  It would seem that love, romantic love, would have been the last thing on peoples’ minds in these conditions.  But it existed.  Not only did the love exist, it grew, thrived, and lasted for many years between some of the couples.

It got me to thinking – are some people lazy about love?  If everything isn’t perfect, the perfect man or woman, the perfect restaurant date, the perfect flowers and gifts, then does it mean the love is lessened?  I think a good question to ask is can you love under adverse conditions?  What happens when the “perfect” man or woman becomes less than perfect due to some terrible circumstance?  Do you walk away, or do you still see the perfection under the circumstance?

So much emphasis is put on what someone you love has to be – what he or she has to do, give, become – that I cannot help but wonder if some people are just soft and lazy where love is concerned. To watch this movie and see these people falling in love under horrific circumstances was just mind blowing. On the other hand, I suppose that under horrific circumstances would be a great place to bond, share the fear and horror with someone.

Anyway, if you want to see what I am talking about, watch the film!

    Love, Parran Matt

  • Meditation and Focus Exercise Day 9: How do I manifest….

Hello, welcome to Day Nine of our exercise.  This day we have a few choices in our meditation question.  In speaking of "love" we have some choices:  How do I manifest/keep/improve love in my life?  So depending on what is happening in your life, this question may be framed differently.

Instructions:  Take a few deep breaths and relax yourself. Stare at the picture below with the thought in mind:  "How do I…….?"   Spend about 3-5 minutes staring at the picture and asking yourself the same question, "Who do I love?" After about 3-5 minutes, write down some of your impressions.  When you are done writing, stare at the picture again and ask yourself the same question, "How do I….?" After about 3-5 minutes, write down your impressions. Repeat the process one more time.  After your final writing down of your impressions (you should have written something down three separate times), close your notebook and do not go back and read your impressions. Get up and get away from your computer for a few minutes, drink some water, or take a short walk.  Come back tomorrow for a wrap up of this exercise! 🙂

  • The “Good-Enough” Marriage????

    Happy almost Friday, everyone! 😉

Okay, so I am sure the title of this post has you wondering what the HECK Mambo is up to with that title? LOL. Well,it isn’t exactly my title. 😉

There is an article that I want you to read and tell me what you think! Some of you can guess what I think, especially if you have had a consultation with me and you told me that your marriage and/or relationship was “okay.” You know what my answer was to that, but let’s not spoil the fun for everyone else. Hahahahahaha.

Anyway, I would like to know what you think of the concepts presented in this article. You can join in our discussion by simply clicking on the “Comments” link under this article and typing in your comments. You can come back to this article and click on that link again to join in further discussion as more people comment. You can comment on comments! I only ask that everyone respect everyone else’s opinion, even if it differs.

When I saw this article I just wondered how many people out there of marrying/relationship age, especially if you happen to be a little bit older and waiting for Prince Charming or Mr. Right or Mr. Soulmate, would agree with this article. Or do you disagree, and why? Or is there no easy answer? 😉

Let me know what you think!

  • Gearing up for Papa Alegba Ritual #2!

    Hello everyone!

Sorry to not have been blogging this last week or so. We have been taking a lot of time to work with the Papa Alegba ritual and get everyone’s petitions heard! 🙂 Hopefully it will be helping a lot of you out really soon.

We are, of course, now gearing up for the next big ritual day, which will be on St. Lazarus’s feast day, June 21, 2009. If you have not gotten your petitions in and still want to participate, you certainly can! Just visit the page at www.spellmaker.com/legba.htm and follow the links to send in your special letter to Papa Alegba.

Since this particular feast day has to do with honoring also St. Lazarus, it is a great time to ask for something to be “resurrected” – whether it a love affair, a job, peace of mind, anything that you have felt is dead and gone! Now is a really good time to ask for that thing to be infused with new life.

I would also encourage you to honor St. Lazarus himself at this time. Remember, these Catholic saints have been used for many years now to represent a particular lwa. However, of course, the Saint him or herself is still a viable entity prayed to by millions every day. Therefore, honoring the Saint at this time is certainy a great thing to do. 🙂

St. Lazarus, as most of you know, was a man said to be resurrected and cured by Jesus Christ. Lazarus was a leper and said to have died of his disease but because of Jesus’s fondness for him and his sisters, he was resurrected and cured of his disease. Whether you believe the biblical tale or not is inconsequential. If you are going to honor Papa on this day because it is St. Lazarus’s feast day, it is always a good idea to honor dear St. Lazarus himself.

There are Catholic prayers to St. Lazarus that you can find on the internet and incorporate into your ritual. You may also want to print out on of the holy pictures you can find of him – he is almost always depicted with dogs which is why he is often used for representing Papa. 😉

Can’t wait to do this ritual, too!

    Love,

    Mambo Samantha Corfield
