Since I am a former letter carrier I could not help but sharing this one. (So that is why I have back trouble!)

Another laugh!
Bob was in trouble. He forgot his wedding anniversary. His wife was
really pissed. She told him "Tomorrow morning, I expect to find a gift in the
driveway that goes from 0 to 200 in 6 seconds AND IT BETTER BE THERE !!"The next morning he got up early and left for work. When his wife woke
up, she looked out the window and sure enough there was a box
gift-wrapped in the middle of the driveway.Confused, the wife put on her robe and ran out to the driveway, brought
the box back in the house. She opened it and found a brand new bathroom scale.
Bob has been missing since Friday.

He Hurt Me But I Want Him Back!
Greetings everyone!
Needless to say, every single day I deal with a situation, a spell casting, or a consultation which involves someone who has been hurt by someone else. Sometimes the hurt was unintentional, but still hurt like hell. Sometimes it was completely intentional and hurts like even deeper hell. But no matter what, the sad truth of what I do is dealing with peoples’ hurt, sorrow, trauma, and pain.
Of course there are times when I look at someone’s case and wonder, “Why the heck does she want him back?” Or why does he want her back? Or whatever the gender… really that doesn’t matter much, actually!
Nonetheless, it is my job to do what you, the client, asks me to do, and so that is what I try to do. BUT when is enough enough? When is the time to look at a situation and tell you that I think you are just punishing yourself, or that you don’t really want a relationship, or why would you let someone hurt you like that and then take them back? What are the criteria for doing that? Obviously, if I think someone is horrible for you and cannot ever be trusted again, I am going to tell you that. But what do you think?
I am not here to answer the questions this time, I am here to ask them: What acts do you think are unforgiveable? At what point does a person not deserve for you to take them back? When would you just say NO to a person who wanted to return to you, even if you thought they had changed?
I ask this because I want to reach out there and see what you all are thinking. Have the rules changed? I see lots of clients, women especially, who will take back someone who had done tremendous emotional damage to them. Granted, most of them want this man (or woman) to have healed and atone for what they have done. However, I wonder if they will really forgive them, even with the change. Can they really take them back? Is there that much forgiveness out there?
I would love to hear your opinions on this!

What’s All This Talk About Voodoo Lamps??
Hello everyone!
Some of you have already noticed that there is a change to Sister Bridget’s Page with some new offerings from her! đ
The majority of you are quite interested in the offering of the burning of a Voodoo Lamp to Ogoun! As most of you know, Sister Bridget is a Priestess of Ogoun. Since her initiation she has been taught many of the secret rituals of our Voodoo family. One of these is the burning of a voodoo lamp on behalf of someone else.
Voodoo Lamps are very ancient with their history tracked back to Africa where animal fat was used to burn a lamp to appease spirits, petition spirits, and communicate with them on matters of importance.
New Orleans Voodoo Lamps use a special recipe mixture of oils and are burned ritualistically to petition a certain lwa for help with situations. The Lamps are also often burned as an offering or in thanks to a lwa. Sister Bridget’s speciality lamp burning rituals will be offered to Ogoun to ask for his help.
So what would one ask for in the burning of this special lamp? Think of fire and what it can create and destroy…. it can destroy the darkness and create light where none was before. So in terms of, for instance, love spell work one might ask that negativity be destroyed in the case and the positivity of light shine on it. One might ask for the fire to “destroy” an enemy or intruder (no, it isn’t going to kill them or anything like that). One might ask that the light of truth be shined on someone who is lying to keep someone with them. I think you probably get the idea.
Also, it is considered a great honor to the lwa to offer them this lamp. Voodoo Lamps are not simple things to do. You must know the correct oils to use and why you use them, you must know the correct herbs, and then you must know the correct way to offer the lamp. Really, anyone could light an oil lamp and say, “Ogoun, this is for you.” And I am not saying that Ogoun wouldn’t like that lamp! đ However, to truly know how to do these lamps correctly, you must be taught as an initiate to do a proper Voodoo lamp.
So until the time that you take your initiation, Sister Bridget can do the lamps for you! When Sister Bridget does the lamp, she will do a ritual with it. She will use the right and consecrated mixture of oils and herbs and other items. She will offer and burn the lamp on your behalf, asking for what you want. When that is done, she will send a picture of your lamp burning and send you some of the lamp oil and tell you how to use it to further empower the ritual that was done on your behalf. You can even choose to have her do a reading for you while your lamp is burning! That has got to probably be one of the most powerful readings you could ever get!
This is a unique and extraordinary service, and I am grateful to have my two beautiful daughters become so skilled!

Twitter??
Hi everyone! Have you heard of Twitter.com? I had heard of it, but wasn’t really sure what it was. The whole point of it, as far as I can tell, is to keep up with each other, sort of like Facebook. But it is done either through text messages that go to your phone or emails. One just puts brief messages of their daily life and friends can “follow” you.
So we set up a Twitter account, but I am curious to know: How many of you are interested in something like Twitter? It seems fascinating to me in a way, but also I wonder about these internet social sites like Facebook, MySpace, and Twitter. So I would love to hear from you all with your opinions. Is this something you enjoy??
If you want to follow us on Twitter here is our URL:

I think it is like the rest of the social sites, you have to sign up for it, but it is free.
I would love to hear your opinions on this.

Happy Mardi Gras!
Hello everyone!
Happy Mardi Gras to each and every one of you! Mardi Gras, of course, is celebrated all over the world, but few places can rival the celebration that takes place in New Orleans. đ
The history and meaning of Mardi Gras is well documented all over the internet, so I will not repeat it here. Suffice to say that it is “Fat Tuesday” – the last day of feasting before Lent.
Mardi Gras is a time of excess.., fun, food, laughter, etc. Now of course you don’t have to celebrate to excess, but please do take a little bit of time today to just celebrate life. Do something fun, have something “bad” for you to eat, just enjoy something today. Mardi Gras is about satisfying one’s self on a very visceral level!
Obviously we can’t and shouldn’t live every day as if it were Mardi Gras, but it is one day a year. Have that ice cream, pie, or fried chicken. Laugh it up at a ridiculous movie. Just be light hearted and full of joy. Don’t worry… your problems, sorrows, and worries will be right where you left them. They will be fine on their own for a minute while you have a laugh or two.
There will be plenty of time tomorrow to get back to life’s problems. đ

Communication and Papa Alegba.
Happy Sunday, everyone!
Of course as most of you know, it has been a little while now since we introduced the Papa Alegba Ritual and Service Pack. Some of you had already weighed in with your comments about your experiences and usages of the pack. (And we would love to hear from more of you – just click the “comments” link below this post!)
I wanted to share a more specific experience that a client told me about. It reminded me so much about the importance of communication, both in the physical world and in the spiritual world.
The client in question, we will call her Clementine, had a most fascinating story to tell, so I will just let her tell it in her own words:
“Dear Mambo,
I am writing to tell you about my experience with the Papa Alegba kit. I received it about two weeks ago and the first thing I noticed after opening it was the wonderful smell of it. It is always so much fun and so exciting to get a new package from you guys at Spellmaker! Just getting my packages from you always makes me happy.
On this day in particular I really needed to get my package. I had a huge row with my HD and was feeling like I had blown everythingl. đ The worst part of the whole fight was that we were fighting over something that didn’t really need to be fought over because it was a complete misunderstanding. So I opened everything up and started looking at all the parts of the kit and Papa’s bath because I had gotten that too.
When I started going through everything a real calm came over me. I took out one of the incenses and started burning it while I was looking over the instructions and figuring out when I was going to the ritual and all of that. As I was sitting there it dawned on me that I felt like my HD has never seemed to get me or understand me. We are loving but there is just this feeling that we speak two different languages sometimes.
I knew with complete certainty that Papa was helping me already. He was helping me to understand that sometimes there are times when my HD literally misunderstands my words. Then I started to wonder if this could be true with my spell work words. Was my HD understanding me? If there were times when he would get angry with me and I didn’t think it was warranted because I didn’t think I did or said anything wrong did that mean the same thing could happen with my spell work?
I got so anxious and nervous to know the answer that I started setting up the ritual even though I didn’t have everything that I wanted for offerings and all of that. I kind of threw everything together, gave Papa what I had on hand and just started the ritual up.
Papa started giving me signs and helping me with amazing insight and understanding of how I had been miscommunicating with my HD, that I needed to try to word things in ways that I knew he would understand. My petitions have always been on my level, using my words, using my concepts and sending that to my HD. I believe Papa was telling me to use MY HD’S WORDS TO TALK TO HIM. Right there in the ritual I took my love doll out and started talking to it using some terms and slangs that my HD uses. I felt like I had been given the key to the universe right there!! I don’t know how to explain it completely, it sounds so weird but I started talking just like my HD to the love doll.
Two days later my HD called me and started saying the stuff I said to the love doll. It was truly incredible. I feel like our communication problems are going to be completely mended and believe me I will be using this ritual to Papa Alegba a lot. I don’t know that any of this even made sense to you but I just wanted to say thank you for the kit and thank you for listening.”
Love,
Clementine
So wow, right?? đ Remember how we have talked about Papa Alegba speaks all languages, is the great communicator and translator? I thought it was so interesting how in this circumstance it wasn’t that the spellcaster was translated through to the HD, it was that the spellcaster translated her own words into words that her HD could understand! We very often ask Papa to translate our words into those that the HD can understand. I thought this was a very unique perspective.
If you have Papa Alegba stories to share (with or without the usage of the ritual kit), please share them with us!!

Don’t Forget to Have Fun!!
Happy Saturday one and all!
Do you remember fun??? đ I had fun yesterday! I was cooking gumbo for some friends, talked to two dear friends online, and enjoyed the company of my husband in the evening. I worked, too, but it was one of those days when I remembered to have some fun within the work!! I don’t always remember, do you?
I found this great list about having fun by author Keith Varnum. Enjoy. Well, have fun with it! LOL. (I love #6 especially – we could all learn something from that.)
Love,
Mambo Sam
1. Practice random acts of connection.
Really. It works. Wave to a firefighter. Smile at a cop. Salute a soldier. Hang with a kid. Have a friendly conversation with the cashier. Leave an outrageously generous tip. Drop in a shelter. Volunteer at a literacy program. Show up at a community fund-raising event.
Serve others. When you give, you feel more connected to other people.
And if youâre not naturally motivated to reach out to others, think selfishly: any altruistic gestureâfrom buying someone a coffee to letting another driver in front of youâputs you on the fast track to feeling good.
2. Make at least one just-for-fun phone call a day.
Water your field of dreamsâyour energy field! Call a friend who is consistently fun to talk to. Just for the heaven of it! ⌠not for business or to have any other need met. Simply ring someone up for a sociable hello without any agenda or expectation.
3. Look upon life as a Mystery School.
Welcome serendipity. Invite surprise. Cultivate spontaneity. Notice synchronicity. Know that the whole of your lifeâevents, situations and peopleâhas been secretly structured by your soul in order to bring you the experiences you want to have this lifetime. Approach life as if the whole of creation is conspiring to bring you goodness âŚbecause it is! Realize that unpleasant people and situations are deliberately placed in your path as a challenge to help you grow big enough to embrace even them.
4. Have an exciting destination.
Seek wonder. Go toward joy, ease and adventureânot simply away from boredom, pain, struggle and fear. Donât dwell on the old. Focus on your destinationâmove towards a fun future.
5. Rejoice each step of the way.
To keep from being overwhelmedâyet still make headwayâbreak your larger goals down into more manageable steps. Itâs easy to become discouraged if each step looms large and requires a major expenditure of time. Take at least one action a dayâno matter how minor. Then you can make some progress only if you have a few minutes. It may be something as little as gathering or setting out the materials for the next stage.
As you take small steps, check them off as achieved. Give yourself a pat on the back for your progress. Always focus on the advancement youâve made as being just as important as the distance you have yet to go.
6. Strive for successânot for perfection.
Give up perfectionism! Perfectionism goes hand in hand with fear of success and failure. We feel in order to succeed we must be perfect. As perfectionists, we insure that we will never be satisfied with who we are. Giving up perfectionism means seeing the good in our lives rather than the faults, focusing on what is working rather than what is not working.
Celebrate success in one aspect of your life each day. Look for the positive. Ask, âWhat did I do that was on the mark? Which parts of my day went well? What am I happy about?â This approach and attitude helps take the sting out of the aspects of your life that seem lacking.
7. Take a daily mini-vacation.
Take 15 minutes each day to do . . . nothing! Nothing of any significance whatsoever. We need time each day to not race against the clock or be productive. As we slow down, our spirit is free to be restored and creative. Go on a walk. Listen to music. Sit on the couch. Dance, run, jog, skip or stretch. Write, paint or sketch. Pet an animal or plant. Listen to the wind. Take yourself on a date. Do something that is alive and energizing for you.
The point is to relax. No multi-tasking. Donât live in your daily planner.
And take a break from technology for a while. Turn off your phone, fax and pager. Our modern conveniences have made us more accessible and vulnerable to otherâs agendas and demands.
8. Just say âNo.â
Consider everything you habitually say âYesâ to each day. Community involvement. Errands for family. Favors for friends. Daily calls. Regular visits. Take time to consult with your spirit. Ask, âIs this activity at this time, in this way, really serving me? Is this the wisest use of my time and energy for all concerned in the long run? Is this activity giving me more energy than it is ultimately taking?
If the answer to these questions is âNo,â then your answer to the activity should be âNo.â
In saying âNoâ to the people and events that arenât intuitively right for you, you are actually saying âYesâ to yourselfâand to the people and values that mean the most to you. If you allow yourself to be tied up with disharmonious, non-aligned situations, you canât be available to share your true gifts with your family, friends and the world at large.
9. Give yourself a place lift.
Do you long for more expanse, efficiency, easy flow and elbow room in your life? By intuitively re-arranging the elements of your daily life, you can create the space to nurture the fun, freedom, opportunities and effectiveness you desire. By clearing out the old, dead elements of your life, you create a natural vacuum and an unblocked channel for fresh, new energy and ideas to come into your private and professional life.
10. Share your life experience.
Keep in mind that not everyone knows what you know. Your personal experiences can be valuable to others. You might be surprised by what some people donât know about life! I always am.
We thrive when we feel we are valued and have left the world a better place at the end of each day. Leave a grand legacy.
Happiness comes from sharing happiness. There are few joys that are as complete as bringing joy to another human being.
Joy defies the laws of economics in that itâs not something that we have less of when we give it away. Joy is something that grows greater for the giver as it is given. The more you give, the more you have. -
Coincidence?
Greetings everyone!
As you might guess, I don’t have a lot of time to watch TV. One show that Matt and I do make time for is “House.” I like the whole “medical mystery” type of genre and the show (IMHO)is terribly clever.
This week’s episode revolved around a sick priest. The priest quoted Einstein with a quote that I had long ago loved to use but had forgotten over the years:
“Coincidence is God’s way of remaining anonymous.”
So many times I get a letter from people saying things like, “I saw my boyfriend and he said the exact things I petitioned for in my spellwork, what a COINCIDENCE!”Needless to say, this drives me crazy! đ Now it isn’t just that I get tired of people thinking that the results from their spellwork are a “coincidence” – I actually get worried about people negating the results of their spellwork! Obviously, if you are sort of backwardly negating your spellwork by tossing it off as a “coincidence” you run the risk of long term damage to your spellwork.
Another thing that I get a lot of is, “All the things I asked for in my spellwork came to pass, do you think it was the lwa helping me?” Huh? Well, yes. You did ASK them to help you. đ
While “God” (or whatever you want to call the Supreme Being) is sort of an unwritten power in our spell work, that doesn’t mean we ignore God. Generally speaking, Vodouisants consider God too lofty or too busy to be concerned with our day-to-day needs. Therefore, we call upon the Vodou Spirits (Les Lois – the lwa) to assist us and be our intermediaries and help our spellwork in many ways. But the spellcaster’s energy, the power of the Supreme Being, and the lwa all work together.
So if you are a person who is chalking things up to “coincidence” I am going to gently suggest that you stop! I don’t want you to stop getting results because you didn’t believe in what was happening right before your own eyes. đ
Love,light, and peace,
Mambo Samantha Corfield -
Happy Valentine’s Day!!!!
Hello everyone,
Happy Valentine’s Day one and all! We are getting ready for the ritual that we will be doing later on and in reading over everyone’s letters it is so heartwarming to see how many of you had requests for OTHER people’s happiness besides your own!
It is just so nice to see how many caring and loving individuals are out there and hoping for the best for themselves while also hoping for the best for the important people in their lives and even for people they don’t know. Many of you asked in your letters for all those participating in the ritual to be blessed with love and happiness. Thank you all for that.
Even though really Valentine’s Day is “just another day” there is so much concentration on giving and receiving love that it is really a great day to work on love spell work, love candle magick, etc., to tap into the love energy floating around out there!
If you are doing any kind of magickal work today, remember to take a moment to call in all the loving energy that people are expressing towards each other and put that into your own work. Maybe you a person who is not personally receiving loving wishes today. But still you can call upon the universal love energy of this day and ask that you receive those loving vibrations into your heart and put that into your work.
We are excited to get your ritual going this afternoon and look forward to feeling the love from each and every one of you. We send it back to you and hope you feel those universal hugs we are sending you all!!!!
Much love,
Mambo Samantha Corfield
