  • Love Potion Number 9 – 09/09/09

    Hello everyone,

Happy Monday! While I am still working on the comparative religion project (and thank you all for your suggestions), I did want to mention that the time to make your Love Potion #9 is fast upon us!

This year will be a particularly wonderful year for making this potion because it will be made on 09/09/09 this year! 🙂 Of course that gives us the triple threat, right? 😉

For some reason, there always seem to be some confusion on when the “ninth hour” of the day is – even though I have it printed on the instructions that the ninth hour of ANY day is 9:00 a.m., not 9:00 p.m. – so the potion is supposed to be made at 9:00 a.m.

Because this is such a special year for making the potion, if there is enough interest, we will make a big batch here at Spellmaker and make it available for purchase, if folks wnat it. Obviously, 09/09/09 isn’t going to be around again, so we are in a position to make a very strong batch of this potion! Usually we do not make here for sale at the Spellmaker office, but because of the special date, we will make it this time if people are interested.

If there is enough interest and we do make the batch, we will make a big batch and then consecrate the bottles individually for those who want to purchase it. We would probably make it available in about an 8 ounce container – so that would be more than enough for personal usage.

So, if you think you might interested in purchasing a container from us and/or you cannot make your own for any reason, please email us at customerservice@spellmaker.com and let us know. If there is enough interest, we will definitely do it!

In the meantime, check out the Spellmaker Forum for the recipe or click the link above for the recipe for making your own Love Potion #9!

  • Working on the comparative religion project!

Hello my good readers!  Thank you all for the great suggestions for different religious aspects you would like explore in blending your magickal and/or Vodou practives with your other religious practices.  You have all given me some great ideas and asked some really wonderful questions.  I will start putting this project together and start posting it next week sometime.

In the meantime, I also wanted to mention that many of you are still doing the 9-day meditation practice that was previously posted. Please do continue to do it and feel free to post your comments even though many people already did the exercises.  Those exercises were truly meant for you to keep and do any time that you feel like you need them.

As you move along in doing those exercises, and do them more often, you will start to become more familiar with them, make them your own, and break them down into pieces.   I will be blogging more about those exercises as well so that we can refine their usage for you.  There are many uses for them to help you reach specific goals and manage different needs.  So, that was definitely not a one-time usage item!  🙂

I hope you are all having a great weekend.

    Love,

    Mambo Samantha Corfield

  • Great motivational song — Working on a Dream.

    Hey there!

Following in the fine footsteps of my dear Sister DJ Candi, I am posting the lyrics to this great song the I heard the other day. Its not so much a song to be used during spellwork, but one to be used before beginning session, to help get you revved up and your energy lifted. Its also a great song to play while driving with the windows down on a warm summer day!

Working On A Dream by Bruce Springsteen

Out here the nights are long, the days are lonely
I think of you and I'm working on a dream
    I'm working on a dream

Now the cards I've drawn's a rough hand, darling
I straighten the back and I'm working on a dream
    I'm working on a dream

    Come on!

    I'm working on a dream
Though sometimes it feels so far away
    I'm working on a dream
And I know it will be mine someday

Rain pourin' down, I swing my hammer
My hands are rough from working on a dream
    I'm working on a dream

    Let's go!

    I'm working on a dream
Though trouble can feel like it's here to stay
    I'm working on a dream
Well our love will chase trouble away

    Alright!

    [whistling interlude]
    That's professional whistling right there!

    I'm working on a dream
Though it can feel so far away
    I'm working on a dream
Our love will make it real someday

The sun rise up, I climb the ladder
The new day breaks and I'm working on a dream
    I'm working on a dream
    I'm working on a dream
    I'm working on a dream

    Hey!

    I'm working on a dream
Though it can feel so far away
    I'm working on a dream
Our love will make it real someday
    I'm working on a dream
Though it can feel so far away
    I'm working on a dream
And our love will make it real someday

  • What do you see?

    Hello everyone!
So many times when I am speaking with clients on the phone they are looking for a sign of something. They are looking for a sign that their spell work is working, they are looking for a sign that they are being heard. Some people are wondering if something is a sign or did they miss it. Often I think that some people just miss the signs that are presented to them because they are too busy to see them or they just don't know what they are looking for. 🙂 Some signs are not so easy to see. So I thought we could start a little game where we try hard to see things, things that are not quite so apparent. I feel this will help in figuring out how to see the signs that are presented to you. Oh and I think it will be fun, too!

  • Compatibility of Religions and Magick.

    Dear Friends,
Over the years, so many clients have come to me with a concern that their magickal practices, especially things like our love spell kits, potions, etc., might interfere with their own personal religious practices.

Many of us grew up in religions that were based on guilt and have been taught that doing any kind of magickal practices are wrong. Of course, now, most of us don't believe that we are doing anything wrong! However, there is still a question of how to blend these beliefs successfully or if they can even be blended successfully.

Therefore, I am going to be starting a series of posts on comparative religions and how different religions can be used to enhance or parallel your magickal practices.

If you have a particular religion you would like to see featured here, please leave a note below in the comments section. Remember, the comments section is confidential – you choose not to have your name or email address show up at all or use a nickname. So if you have a particular religion that you would like to see how to blend your practices, please let me know.

Also, I would love to hear your own personal ways that you have come up with to blend your magickal and/or Voodoo practices with your own religion!

    Love to all,

  • Smile it’s Monday!

Back to work!  Hope you all had a good weekend.  Needless to say we get a ton of email here at Spellmaker.Sometimes it is hard to keep up with it all. Both Mambo and I have a tendency to hit the computer first thing in the morning to start seeing who needs what!

Since it is Monday I thought you might need a laugh. This is a list Ifound by Michael Boyd:

How to tell if you're an e-mail junkie

How to tell if you're an e-mail junkie

    Date: Fri, 16 May 1997 09:57:28 +0600

You know you are an Email/Internet Junkie If :

    1. You wake up at 3 a.m. to go to the bathroom and stop to check your e-mail on the way back to bed.

    2. You get a tattoo that reads "This body best viewed with Netscape Navigator 3.0 or higher."

    3. You name your children Eudora, Mozillia and Dotcom.

    4. You turn off your modem and get this awful empty feeling, like you just pulled the plug on a loved one.

    5. You spend half of the plane trip with your laptop on your lap…and your child in the overhead compartment.

    6. You decide to stay in college for an additional year or two just for the free Internet access.

    7. You laugh at people with 9600-baud modems.

    8. You start using smileys in your snail mail.

    9. Your hard drive crashes. You haven't logged in for two hours. You start to twitch. You pick up the phone and manually dial your ISP's access number. You try to hum to communicate with the modem…And you succeed.

    10. You find yourself typing "com" after every period when using a word processor.com

    11. You refer to going to the bathroom as downloading.

    12. You start introducing yourself as "John Doe at AOL dot com."

    13. All of your friends have an @ in their names.

    14. Your PET has its own home page.

    15. You can't call your mother…she doesn't have a modem.

    16. You check your mail. It says "no new messages." So you checkit again.

    17. Your phone bill comes to your doorstep in a box.

    18. You don't know what sex three of your closest friends are, because they have neutral nicknames and you never bothered to ask.

    19. You move into a new house and decide to Netscape before you landscape.

    20. You tell the cab driver you live at "http://1000.edison.garden/house/brick.html"

    21. You start tilting your head sideways to smile

  • Meditation and Focus Exercise Wrap Up!

Hello everyone! It was so heartening to see that so many of you participated in this.  Truly, what this has been all about is manifesting your destiny!  I encourage you to keep track of where these exercises are. This time, we used them in a very general, self-awareness way.  However, they can also be pin-pointed to use to solve problems, meet challenges, manifest things into your life.

Now you can go back and read your writings.  Highlight those things that jump out at you. What did you discover about yourself, others, your relationship to people, places, and things?  This time we did this exercise to help with self-awareness and to help you get used to this form of work.  You will only do a few things differently to use this to help manifest things in your life.

Best of all, you can use these exercises right along with any Spellmaker spell work or adjunct work that you are doing! For instance, if you were doing a nine day spell kit, you could do each day along with your spell kit – configuring the subject of your thoughts to the goal you are working on. If you were working on love spell work, you would start out reconfiguring your question slightly, such as, "Who am I in relation to Fred?" Then you would follow along the same pattern of reconfiguring your meditation questions to parallel your spell work.

You could do the same with candle work or any other of our magickal work – you can just slightly reconfigure your questions to work towards your goal. However, you do still want to stick with the basic questions and the basic pattern of questions – just reconfigure them to make sense with what you are doing.

After you have worked with this exercise for awhile, you will find that you turn to it more and more to solve problems, etc. You can use alongside any project, magickal or otherwise.

I also wanted to mention that the guidance to present these exercises, find the appropriate pictures, etc., came to me in a meditation and just rushed forward so fast that I almost could not write down the original 9 questions you should ask for the meditation itself!  It was wonderfully overwhelming!

I hope you enjoyed it! I would love to hear all of your comments and thoughts on this.

    Love to all,
    Mambo Samantha Corfield

  • Defiance.

Hi everyone! Mambo and I watched a movie the other night titled, “Defiance.”  Have you seen this movie?  It is a powerful film about the human spirit, survival, and love.  It is also a true story.  If you have not seen it, I highly recommend it.

One thing among many that really struck me was the love story component to this story.  I don’t really want to give the story away, but love grew in probably the most adverse conditions that one could experience.  It would seem that love, romantic love, would have been the last thing on peoples’ minds in these conditions.  But it existed.  Not only did the love exist, it grew, thrived, and lasted for many years between some of the couples.

It got me to thinking – are some people lazy about love?  If everything isn’t perfect, the perfect man or woman, the perfect restaurant date, the perfect flowers and gifts, then does it mean the love is lessened?  I think a good question to ask is can you love under adverse conditions?  What happens when the “perfect” man or woman becomes less than perfect due to some terrible circumstance?  Do you walk away, or do you still see the perfection under the circumstance?

So much emphasis is put on what someone you love has to be – what he or she has to do, give, become – that I cannot help but wonder if some people are just soft and lazy where love is concerned. To watch this movie and see these people falling in love under horrific circumstances was just mind blowing. On the other hand, I suppose that under horrific circumstances would be a great place to bond, share the fear and horror with someone.

Anyway, if you want to see what I am talking about, watch the film!

    Love, Parran Matt
