  • Is your spellwork too much work?

β€œOpportunity is missed by most people because it comes dressed in overalls and looks like work.”

    β€” Thomas Edison

Greetings, everyone!  I know we have talked about this before – the work of spellwork!  However, I do think the subject can be revisited over and over again and still be of value!

All too often I hear people say that they think things like our spell kits are "just too much work." It is always a sign-inducing, eye-rolling moment for me because that statement generally comes from someone who just told me they would do ANYTHING to get Jack (or Jill) back into their lives.  But that is an extreme example – there are also smaller examples:  Those folks who just don't want to do another doll session or light another candle… they are just sick of spell work at the moment.

Now that is something different!  Sometimes a little break from spell work is a good thing.  It gives you time to refresh your spirit, look at the spellwork with fresh eyes, and regain your energy.  The best way to take a break from spell work is during the break to assess the break itself; are you feeling good about the break?  Are you feeling that this is a time for you to renew yourself and your purpose? The biggest danger in taking a break sometimes comes in the form of not knowing when the break should be over.

I always tell the folks to whom I recommend a break to be on the look out for signs that their break is over.  If you are longing for your voodoo doll, or you start to miss the comfort and ritual of your candle magick, or you feel an incredible pull back into the work - those kinds of things are clear signs that your break is over!

Lately I have been literally bombarded with stories of clients and the success of their spellwork!  :-)  Needless to say, that is always amazingly awesome to hear!  As I have mentioned before, I do notice a very common thread in these success stories – these are very often folks who were dedicated to that work, had a real heart for it, and stuck to their guns even in the face of adversity.  Their success is inspiring!

So if the spellwork is seeming too much like work, then yes, take a small break, but never take your eye off the prize! πŸ˜‰

  • For a smile.

    The Park Bench
    Poet: Unkown

Beneath the long, straggly branches of an old willow tree.
Disillusioned by life with good reason to frown,
For the world was intent on dragging me down.
And if that weren't enough to ruin my day,
A young boy out of breath approached me, all tired from play.
He stood right before me with his head tilted down
And said with great excitement, "Look what I found!"

In his hand was a flower, and what a pitiful sight,
With its petals all worn – not enough rain, or too little light.
Wanting him to take his dead flower and go off to play,
I faked a smile and then shifted away.
But instead of retreating he sat next to my side
And placed the flower to his nose and declared with overacted surprise,
"It sure smells pretty and it's beautiful too.
That's why I picked it; here, it's for you."

The weed before me was dying or dead.
Not vibrant of colors: orange, yellow or red.
But I knew I must take it, or he might never leave.
So I reached for the flower, and replied, "Just what I need."
But instead of him placing the flower in my hand,
He held it mid-air without reason or plan.
It was then that I noticed for the first time
That weed-toting boy could not see he was blind.

I heard my voice quiver; tears shone in the sun
As I thanked him for picking the very best one.
"You're welcome," he smiled, and then ran off to play,
Unaware of the impact he'd had on my day.
I sat there and wondered how he managed to see
A self-pitying woman beneath an old willow tree.
How did he know of my self-indulged plight?
Perhaps from his heart, he'd been blessed with true sight.

Through the eyes of a blind child, at last I could see
The problem was not with the world; the problem was me.
And for all of those times I myself had been blind,
I vowed to see the beauty in life, and appreciate every second that's mine.
And then I held that wilted flower up to my nose
And breathed in the fragrance of a beautiful rose
And smiled as I watched that young boy, another weed in hand,
About to change the life of an unsuspecting old man.

  • Milk of Damballah White Bath Ongoing Possibilities!

      White bath (2)
Happy Saturday, everyone!  As Sister Bridget recently mentioned in her blog, we now have “refill” or “replacement” packs for our Haitian Vodou Formula Baths

One of our most popular baths, the Milk of Damballahβ„’ White Bath is something that I have actually been recommending to certain clients for years as something that can be re-done in parts.  Most of the time these clients were folks who were working on especially hard love case, tough job or money goal, anything that seemed fraught with ongoing negativity.  In those cases, I recommended that they do the original bath and then buy another one and take the herbs out of the herb packet and divide the other part of the bath mixture and do a refresh on the bath over several days or weeks, as necessary.

In those cases, I recommended that they just use a little bit at a time any time they were feeling down or sad or negative about their particular case, no matter what the reason.  Having done the original bath, they could easily call back on that energy.  The great thing about now having the refill packs is that you no longer have to keep buying the complete white bath if you have recently done one.

One thing, however, like Sister Bridget said, we hate to keep harping on it, but you must first do the original bath before using the refresher pack.  If you don’t, you are wasting your time using the refresher pack. πŸ™‚  Also, if it has been more than a year since you did the original bath, I would suggest redoing the original bath in its entirety if you have not done any refreshers.  However, if you are doing refreshers regularly, you can just keep going with that!

Especially with the white bath, it would be nice to think that you would be rid of negativity forever!  What a world that would be!  Unfortunately, we are all bombarded by negative images, thoughts, and energies almost every day of our life.  Getting rid of them can lead to better health, attainment of goals, lifting of depression and so much more.  Yes, sometimes you have to work at it, but the results are so worth it!

    Love to all!

  • Love Potion #9 Update!

Hello everyone!  Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee, that was a lot of potion that I made yesterday!  LOL.  It was so much fun to do it that way, though.  I really felt so much energy and good vibrations from doing those big old pots of love potion!!

Even though I made quite a bit of it, I am going to only leave it up for sale another 24 hours.  When all the orders are filled that already came in, if I have any left over, I will put those jars up for sale again.  Right at this minute, I know that I have quite a few "extra" jars left, but I obviously want to make sure that everyone who ordered gets their order!  So, this is only going to be available another 24 hours, but, as I said, if there is extra, I will put it back up for sale.

For those of you who made your own potion, and those of  you who are getting the potion I made, remember there are a lot of ways to use this potion.  I believe Sister Bridget is going to post some ideas on how to use the potion.  Remember, a little bit of this potion goes a long way!  You only need to add in a few drops of it to something else – not necessarily to get your intended to drink a whole glass of it!  πŸ™‚ Have fun with it!

  • Love Potion Number 9 – 09/09/09

    Hello everyone,

Happy Monday! While I am still working on the comparative religion project (and thank you all for your suggestions), I did want to mention that the time to make your Love Potion #9 is fast upon us!

This year will be a particularly wonderful year for making this potion because it will be made on 09/09/09 this year! πŸ™‚ Of course that gives us the triple threat, right? πŸ˜‰

For some reason, there always seem to be some confusion on when the “ninth hour” of the day is – even though I have it printed on the instructions that the ninth hour of ANY day is 9:00 a.m., not 9:00 p.m. – so the potion is supposed to be made at 9:00 a.m.

Because this is such a special year for making the potion, if there is enough interest, we will make a big batch here at Spellmaker and make it available for purchase, if folks wnat it. Obviously, 09/09/09 isn’t going to be around again, so we are in a position to make a very strong batch of this potion! Usually we do not make here for sale at the Spellmaker office, but because of the special date, we will make it this time if people are interested.

If there is enough interest and we do make the batch, we will make a big batch and then consecrate the bottles individually for those who want to purchase it. We would probably make it available in about an 8 ounce container – so that would be more than enough for personal usage.

So, if you think you might interested in purchasing a container from us and/or you cannot make your own for any reason, please email us at customerservice@spellmaker.com and let us know. If there is enough interest, we will definitely do it!

In the meantime, check out the Spellmaker Forum for the recipe or click the link above for the recipe for making your own Love Potion #9!

  • Meditation and Focus Exercise Day 8: Who do I love?

Hello, welcome to Day Eight of our exercise.

Instructions:  Take a few deep breaths and relax yourself. Stare at the picture below with the thought in mind:  "Who do I love?"   Spend about 3-5 minutes staring at the picture and asking yourself the same question, "Who do I love?" After about 3-5 minutes, write down some of your impressions.  When you are done writing, stare at the picture again and ask yourself the same question, "Who do I love?" After about 3-5 minutes, write down your impressions. Repeat the process one more time.  After your final writing down of your impressions (you should have written something down three separate times), close your notebook and do not go back and read your impressions. Get up and get away from your computer for a few minutes, drink some water, or take a short walk.  Come back tomorrow and do Day Nine. πŸ™‚

  • Universal Love – Live it, Love it!

    WPwithinEveryatom

Think about this!  What is the message there?  Is love available to everyone?  Are we all taking the time to actually feel that love and the warmth of it?  How accepting of love are we really?  If we cannot experience Universal Love and love of one's self, can we truly experience romantic love?  Just asking!  Love to hear your opinions.  Remember everyone, you can read everyone's comments and make your own simply by clicking on the "comments" link below each individual post.  πŸ™‚

  • Adultery between married partners: A recession strategy?

  • New Customer Service Email Address

    Happy Sunday, one and all!

I want to let you all know that we now have a new customer service email address. It’s a pretty easy one: customerservice@spellmaker.com – catchy, huh? πŸ˜‰

Of course we are always striving to serve you the best way that we can, but realize that even under the best of circumstances sometimes things can go wrong, miscommunications can occur, and misunderstandings can happen to anyone! No matter what the problem or challenge might be, we want to work with you to resolve it satisfactorily!

I have noticed that many times people approach the idea of “customer service” in an angry and defensive way…. almost as if one expects to be put off or ignored and so, to get the attention one needs, the first line of attack is through anger. There is no reason to do that with us. If you are experiencing any kind of challenge with us, we want to resolve it! We want you to be happy, content, and satisified.

It is unrealistic to think that any business is going to get it right all the time. Everyone everywhere makes mistakes! We try to be extremely careful NOT to make mistakes, but when I woke up this morning we were all human, and I expect the same thing tomorrow morning, too. πŸ˜‰ So, all we are asking is that if you are having a problem with us, that you let us know and let us try to fix it!

If you are writing to customer service, for fastest service, please include your full name (first and last/surname), an order number (if you are referring to a product or service that you have purchased), and a synopsis of what the challenge is. If you have an idea of what you would like to happen to resolve the issue, we would love it if you put that in there, too! πŸ™‚

Please remember that we never, ever guarantee that anyone will get a particular result with spell work or spell products. It is really impossible to do that! But we do guarantee that we will always try our best for you, that our products and services are 100% authentic, and that we will work with you on any issue you encounter.

Having said that, I hope each and every one of you never, ever needs to write to customer service! πŸ˜‰

  • A Girl Named Berkeley….

answered a newspaper ad that I put in our local "alternative" paper about five years ago.  I don't remember the ad exactly, but it read something to the effect of "Voodoo Priestness needs assistant.  If you object to Voodoo, please don't bother applying."  Now let me digress a moment, the reason it was worded like that was because a few years prior to that I had  put out an ad and didn't mention the type of business.  Many hang up calls later, I told myself I would be VERY clear next time I needed to put an ad for help in the paper.

Anyway, a girl named Berkeley called for an interview.  I told her to come right in and talk to me.  She did.  I didn't talk to anyone else even though I had about another 25 calls (people seemed to like the ad!).  I loved her at first sight, Matt and I hired her, and the rest is history. She became our office manager, your go-to girl, and all around the best darned assistant any Voodoo priestess has ever had.

However, the time has come for Berkeley to move on from us onto bigger (but certainly not better because what could be better than being with US?!) and different things.  She is graduating from the University of New Mexico and has been accepted into the Master's Program.  She has been offered a great job at the University that will go hand-in-hand with her studies in her Master's Program. While we were not ready for her to go yet (although we knew she would have to eventually), this opportunity was really too good for her to pass up.

We are not saying goodbye to her; she is our friend, our family, and will be around.  I am sure she will be blogging about all her new adventures as soon as she has a chance.  She is greatly missed at the office and while I hate the end of this era, I am excited for her new and wonderful future.  I know she is going to excel and be a rock star at her new endeavors.

For now, we will not replace her (not that she could be replaced!), and Parran Matt will be answering your calls and emails.  So please be patient with us, we are finding our way around without our right-hand gal and it might take us a minute longer to get to your requests than usual.  But rest assured we are there for you and are working as hard as we can to keep up the level of service you have been receiving.

In closing, I just want to say THANK YOU, BERKELEY!  You have been a treasure and a pleasure and I am proud to call you friend and family.   I am really glad you answered this Voodoo Priestess's ad!

    Love,  Mambo Sam
