  • Overlooked Helpful Things!

    Hi there, everyone!

    Someone asked me a question the other day about what things in our www.spellmaker.com product line did I think got the most overlooked – what did people forget about that might be helpful for them?  It was really such an interesting question!  :-)  This person has had a unique challenge that they have been working on for awhile now and wondered if they overlooking something that could help them. 

    It really did get me to thinking and I thought that I would share some of my answers to them with you, at least as much as I can without divulging information about their case. So here is my list of overlooked products:

    1.  The Voodoo Self Improvement Doll:   This ranks way up there in overlooked and underused products.  Most clients are very interested in changing someone else, or changing how someone else thinks.  :-)  Nothing wrong with that, however, the ability to "change" or improve one's self can be crucial to a case.  For instance, let's say you are working on a love case where you were with someone and they broke up with you.  You know for sure that there are some qualities about you that caused the break up.  There are some things that your partner expressed to you that needed changing or that they didn't care for.  Now as long as we aren't talking about your inherent belief system or something that is very important to you, why not try to change or improve that quality about yourself?  Chances are, it probably is something that you know needs changing!  ;-) 

    Also, let's say that YOU personally think that there was something about you that may have negatively impacted your relationship, some behavior that you feel needs changing.  Don't be afraid to use this doll!  :-) 

    What if you are working on spells like Get a Job(tm) or Big Money(tm)?  Do you feel like maybe your job skills are a little rusty or perhaps your interview methods aren't perfect?  Maybe you are nervous about interviewing?  Maybe you fear that money and wealth are not for you?  Maybe you have accepted your "fate" as being someone who just doesn't deserve money and wealth?  Using the self-improvement doll to change your thinking is perfect.

    There are so many things that we overlook about ourselves that can impact any kind of case we are working on!  Remember that you are an intergral part of your own case, not just the people you are trying to affect with your spell work!  🙂

    2.  Cosmic Voodoo Destiny Egg and Cosmic Voodoo Spirituality Egg:   Again, this is about the awareness of "self"  (a much overlooked subject when people do spell work).   The Cosmic Voodoo Destiny Egg can be used in a number of useful ways in spell work – especially love spell work.   Why not use this egg to create the "destiny" of you and the person you want to be with?  Using the visualization and spell techniques of the egg – you can use this tool as a perfect adjunct work to love spell work – CREATE the DESTINY that you WANT with you and the person you want to be with!

    Don't know what you want your destiny to be?  Petition for guidance and signs to see what direction you want your life to go in?

    Again with job, luck, and money spell work  - create that destiny!  Certainly with adjunct work such as the Destiny Egg you can reinforce your spell work adding in this work where you start to create the destiny that you wish to live.

    The Spirituality Egg can also be used in different ways for many different goals as well.  One thing that is very common is that people are very hurt, angry, and lost when they start spell work and often, too, when a case goes on for longer than anyone hopes that it will.  We start to lose faith, lose energy, and lose belief even in our selves!  The Spirituality Egg is the perfect way to renew your spiritual energy, no matter what case you are working on!  If you feel yourself getting down and feeling lost and feeling like nothing can work for you, using the Spirituality Egg to petition for spiritual strength to go on, to boost your spiritual energy, and to deepen your spiritual understanding is a great way to enhance your spell work (and your life in general!).

    3. High John the Conquerer Root Bag:  Many folks do use these root bags.  However, lots of folks don't use them, don't know what they are for or how they can help them.  High John root bags are one of those things that I feel that anyone who is going to do magick on a regular basis should have!  High John root is traditionally used to strengthen any and all magick!  It is also a personal luck and guidance  and protection mechanism.  It is something that people should keep for a lifetime and it has a tendency to take on a living energy of its own.  Many people just won't be without theirs!  I personally have had mine about 40 years.  :-) 

    Simply used to put on an altar to strengthen the magick, bring luck and guidance, and strengthen one's own personal magickal powers are some of the ways to use this bag. 

    4.Holy Hyssop Bath Additive:   Certainly this is not a substitute for something like the Milk of Damballh White Bath.  However, not every situation warrants doing a complete white bath.  There are days when you feel a temporary flood of negative emotions or you are just down or just need a quick rejuvenation!  That is where the Holy Hyssop Bath Additive can come in!  It is a great thing to just keep on hand for a quick bath to refresh yourself, refresh your energy, remove the negativity of the day, etc.  This can certainly keep you from building up negative energy, especially if you already did a white bath!  

    5. The New Orleans Voodoo Lucky Doll:  This special doll is really underused!  It is a perfect way to bring more luck into the situation you are working on – love, money, etc.  It is a doll that you can keep around and just use every so often to boost a situation.  Going to see the person you are working on?  Do a quick session with this doll beforehand.  Going on an interview?  Again, do a quick session with this doll.  It isn't something you need to do every day, but certainly it is something that falls under the category of situational magickal  – you want to influence a particular situation at a particular time to enhance an opportunity for success right at that moment.  :-)  This is a product that you can just keep around and pull it out when you know you are going into a circumstance where you could use some luck!

    So there are a few things that can be very helpful in day-to-day spell work, enhance your work, boost your adjunct work, etc.  🙂

  • An Angry Young Woman…

    or man!  🙂

    Greetings, everyone! 

    As one might expect, I get a fair share of angry folks who are working on their cases.  Often with hurt comes anger!  Of course, we all experience anger at one time or another.  Most of have lived through hearing that we should "rise above it" or "not stoop to that level" or something of that nature. Unfortunately, that isn't always possible.

    Occasional anger can be good, gets the blood boiling, even can be put into spell work at certain times in certain ways to redirect a negative emotion into a positive endeavor.  However, my concerns with anger come when I see that that is the first emotion that some people revert to in most situations. You probably know someone like that in your friends or family group – no matter what, they will find something wrong with what they have, what is being done, or what they are experiencing. There is no way to please them.

    I get concerned for them because I wonder if anything will ever make them truly happy.  They don't get excited over small victories.  They don't see the good in what they are doing or learning.   Nothing is ever helpful, useful, or right in their minds.  No matter what I tell them, there is always an underlying tone of "no, that's not right, nothing ever goes right for me and it never will."  I have even experienced those who got exactly what they asked for in spell work but then found a way to be angry about it. They literally will sabotage the exact results they were looking for by being angry about SOMETHING (i.e., usually nothing!).

    Anger is a complicated emotion – not necessarily always negative, sometimes healthy.  When it gets out of hand, though, seeking to change that behavior is crucial to your ultimate happiness.  One thing I have noticed is that angry people generally have impossible standards.  When I ask them if they feel that they, themselves, could hold up to the standards they impose on others, of course I am met with anger about deigning to ask them that.  :-) 

    However, if you are finding that you are quite angry about most things most of the time, you might want to ask yourself just that question and then some:  Can you live up to the standards you set for everyone else?  Do you always do everything right? Are you always on your best behavior and is every decision you make the perfect one?  Do you always choose your words just right?  Do you never make a mistake?  If just me asking you that is starting to make your blood boil, you might have an anger problem!  😉

    In some cases, I have even recommended that folks do the Lady Samantha's Hex Removal kit to help alleviate and prevent some of their anger.  No, they aren't cursed, but having that much anger is building up a wall of negativity that needs to be removed!  white candle magick kits or a Cosmic Voodoo Healing Egg can also be used to help with anger issues.

    I would like us all to take another look at anger, what it does to us, why, and why are we so angry?  There is a great article at the American Psychological Association website that I think is a great read. If you aren't the one with the anger problem chances are you know someone who is.  It's a good read for that, too!

  • CONFERENCE REGISTRATION 2-PART PLAN EXTENDED

    Hello everyone!

    By the request of a number of clients, we have extended the two-part payment plan option for the upcoming Spellmaker Video Voodoo Conference.  We are trying hard to work with everyone who wants to attend the conference!  So if you choose the two-part payment plan by October 16, 2010 you will be able to attend all the classes and workshops of the conference even though your second payment will be made after the conference.  We realize that times are still tough for many (us included) and the conference has never really been about making a huge profit.  We have always tried to remain within the parameters of the cost of supplies, time, and effort of the conference as far as payment is concerned.  So we are happy to work with anyone who wishes to attend the conference.  If you need special arrangements, please contact customerservice@spellmaker.com and let us know.  We do ask, however, that if at all possible you let us know by October 16.

    In the meantime, we are very excited about the classes and presentations!  Sister Bridget will be presenting a unique and informative presentation on Marie Laveau!  Our psychic friend, Mary Lee Stein, will be doing a great presentation on crystals and their special properties.  Khouzhan Ann will be talking with us about fresh new ways to use combo or adjunct work.  Khouzhans Athena and Lucy will be presenting their sacred places visions. Khouzhan Heather will be doing an amazing presentation on serving the lwa through art and specialty offerings. 

    Yours truly will be teaching about the roots and philosphy of love spell work and sex magick as well as how they go hand-in-hand.  I will also be teaching many other things including how to make a voodoo wand (wand included!), The Church of the Nine Mysteries, how to make your personal veve, and much more!

    Parran Matt will be sharing his thunderstone ritual to Ogoun, something that everyone can benefit from!

    Also, please note:  You do NOT need a webcam to participate in the conference.  You only need a webcam if you want to be seen.  If you do not wish to be seen, you don't need a webcam.  You can view the whole conference on your computer and ask your questions by typing them in, such as in a chatroom format.  The conference is completely confidential and no one needs to be seen on camera unless they want to. If you do use a webcam you can ask your questions "in person" and interact with us that way.  The choice is completely yours.  🙂

  • Feast of the Archangels

    Hello everyone!

    Today is the Feast of the Archangels – Michael, Raphael, and Gabriel.  :-)  I won't go into detail here except to say that this is a GREAT power day for Vodouisants and other spiritualists.  If you come to the Spellmaker Online Voodoo Conference in September, I will be explaining how this particular feast day figures into our New Orleans Voodoo liturgy!

  • A Few Words about Guidance

    Heed the still small voice that so seldom leads us wrong, and never into folly.

    Happy Friday, everyone!  I hope you have a wonderful weekend planned! 

    I wanted to talk just a moment about guidance.  People are always asking me about getting guidance from the lwa, or other spirits, and we have discussed that and will discuss it further in a different post.

    However, one thing that people seem to forget about is their inner guidance, their gut, their instincts.  So many times folks have told me that they "knew" they were doing the wrong thing, or that something wasn't right for them, but they just ignored their instincts and went head long into disaster.

    Learning to trust your very own guidance and instincts is such an important task!  It may not be easy, and sometimes you may just feel like you are paranoid.  You may feel that you are just making up a feeling because you are afraid.  All of that may actually be true at one time or another.  But how many times have you said to yourself after the fact that you should have followed your own instincts? 

    In my opinion, the best way to learn to trust your own instincts is to practice it!  Surprise, just like everything else, right?  :-)  But practice it in a certain way!  Try using your instincts or inner guidance at times when it doesn't matter so much. Think about things you are about to do and see how you feel about them.  It could be something as simple as taking a walk or choosing a restaurant.  Stop just for a minute and truly examine how you feel inside about your choice.  Most of the time, when it is something simple like that, you will feel just fine about it, as you should.  But what you are truly doing here is honing your skills at figuring out how to listen to your own instincts.  In choosing to do exercises like this when it doesn't count so much, you will start to build those skills you need to make the right choices when it really does count!

    Start practicing listening to that still, small voice inside.  Best thing, it is always, always, always there just for you!  Your Inner Buddy!  🙂

  • With Love in Your Heart….

    and you have to mean it!  🙂

    Hello everyone!  I had to take a little break from blogging while Parran Matt was out of town as I had to handle the orders in the office.  :-)  Hopefully I didn't screw up too many of your orders.  If you got something unusual, that was probably my mistake – just let us know!

    Anyway, I was recently have a great consultation with a dear client of mine and, as I have on many occasions, I had the guidance that her fellow was feeling like maybe he had made too many mistakes and I felt like he was believing that her door was closed to him.  I encouraged her to use whatever products she had on hand, her love doll, candles, etc., to petition towards him that, yes, they could start over, yes, her door was still open, and yes, things could work out between them; the past could be in the past and they could start over… and then….

    came my admonishment, "Honey, you have to MEAN it when you say it!"  :-) 

    So many people come to me with hurt from their relationship, having been treated badly, cheated on, etc.  However, they still want to be with that person, they still love them.  That part is fine.  However, where the challenge can sometimes come in is that when you are doing this love spell work you absolutely, positively have to do it with pure love in your heart.  You cannot feed your anger, hurt, and negative feelings into your spell work.  I am not saying this is an easy thing to do.  It's hard.  Really hard sometimes.  H owever, love spell work is about LOVE – both giving and receiving.  You have to truly give it to get it.

    No, I don't mean you have to take someone's bad treatment of you, that is not what I mean at all.  However, you can use your spell work to try to change that bad treatment, to let the person know that  you don't intend to take that treatment anymore, but it has to be with the love in your heart that you truly feel for them.  However, it is not just WHAT you say, it is also how you FEEL when you say it.  If you are just phoning it in, it isn't going to work for you. 

    I always recommend to people to not do love spell work when they are feeling angry.  You have to set aside that anger, even if you can just do it for the time of the spell work.  And that is kind of the trick – you can still keep your anger and your hurt (though we want to work on that, too!), just compartmentalize it.  Decide before you start your work to set aside those negative feelings.  You will actually feel much better for that time period, too!  Do those candles or love dolls or spell castings with pure love in your heart for the person you intend to affect with your work.  Just for those minutes, fantasize that nothing bad has ever happened between you – there is just pure love and joy being sent out.  :-)  That will definitely send out the right energy and you will feel it and you will benefit from it, too!

    Happy Monday, everyone!  Happy Labor Day!

  • Remember the Chinese Harvest Moon Ritual?

  • Is it okay if I…..

    missed a day of my spell work, forgot to light the incense three days in a row, didn't do the reflection part of the spell, and, oh, didn't bother with the sand trail?  Is it okay, Mambo?  Will this mess up my spell work?

    Greetings everyone!

    Hardly a day goes by that I don't get someone asking me something "messing up" their spell work because of things they did or didn't do.  Mostly it is after the fact and often is phrased as, "Is it okay that I……?"

    Frankly, no, not really, it isn't okay.  For sure things happen sometimes that we cannot control.  However, a lot of what I hear that people did was completely avoidable.  First off, READ the spell kit instructions.  Getting four days into the spell work and figuring out that you forgot a step is really avoidable.  Read the spell kit instructions; read them before you ever start the spell and get your questions answered.  Then, use the instructions.  I don't see how people miss steps when the instructions are clearly meant to be used. You don't have to memorize anything – you follow along the book.

    Life can be hectic and get in the way of our spell work!  No one knows that better than me!  Like I said, sometimes it is totally unavoidable to miss parts of spell work, emergencies happen, etc. Truthfully, though, about 95% of the things that people do to mess up their spell work is avoidable.  Be careful and thoughtful about what you are doing.  If you truly, in your heart of hearts, want what you say you want from the spell work, then you should be extremely careful and dedicated to what you are doing.

    You have to ask yourself, if I don't care enough to do this spell work right, do I truly want what I think I want? If you feel like the spell is too much work, or too hard to do, or takes too much of your time – do you absolutely, truly want what you think you want?   As most of you know, we do, of course, offer solo castings for those folks who cannot do their own spell work for one reason or another.  That is fine!  But even at that, we send you a Holy Relic card to work with and I cannot believe the number of people who tell me they never used it and, "is that okay?"  NO. It's not okay.  You are sending out a very mixed message to Les Lois, God, and even me about what you want!

    A large part of the success of spell work depends on YOU; what do you want, why do you want it, and do you really want it?  What energy are you putting out there?  Please think about that the next time you pick up your work to do it.  If you think your spell work or adjunct work is a pain in your butt and you dread doing it, you should give some serious thought to the goal you think you want.
