  • On again/off again – frustrating relationships!

Good morning everyone!  Hope you are having a great Saturday.  Very often we get in our Heart's Desire letters for spellwork information that the relationship has been "on again/off again."  These relationships can be SO frustrating, right?  In fact, however, sometimes this can be an upward spiral in the relationship as you learn more about each other and learn what to do (and not to do!).

Very often, these kinds of relationships responds extremely well to love spell work!  I believe that is because there is something there or there would only be "off" and no "on again" to the relationship!  The couple is generally searching for a way to make things better – they keep coming back for more! πŸ™‚

Many times, we get some of our best spell casting results from those people who are in these kinds of relationshps – they know there is something worth fighting for! πŸ™‚

I like this article about on-again/off-again types of relationships! It can help put some things into perspective!

  • Papa Alegba Month is Almost Here!

    Happy Day-Before-Friday, everyone!

I cannot believe that it is almost Papa Alegba Month here at Spellmaker! Every year we dedicate June to Papa Alegba since he has THREE feast days in June (13, 21, and 29)!

This is the month where we do three free rituals here in the Spellmaker office and you can send in your petitions to be included in all three of the rituals.  If you care to do some work on your own, we also have great products for Papa Alegba on his page on the Spellmaker website!

On that same page is lots of information about Papa, how to serve him, what his offerings are, etc.

One thing I wanted to talk about is why keys are so important to Papa!  No self-respecting Vodouisant would ever throw away old keys! Nope, those go right on Papa's altar!  Remember, he is the gatekeeper, the mediary between our world and the world of the lwa – no work gets done without his permission!  We must always ask his permission to travel to and from (and to allow the lwa to travel to and from) our different worlds.

A little trick that I use, and I know have talked about this before, but I feel like it is worth repeating – is to designate certain old keys for certain things.  For instance, I have three keys that I use with money work.  I have 7 old keys that I use for luck work – I think you get the idea!  When I start any of that type of work for myself and Parran Matt, those keys go on whatever altar I am working from. Those particular keys have been dedicated to Papa, by me, for those specific purposes. In this way, I feel like I get a little extra "oomph" from my work by having particular keys for him for the things for which I am asking!

If nothing else, just throw all your old keys in a bowl and just keep them around.  (Warning:  People will start to think you collect keys and you will find keys showing up everywhere!  LOL)  Dedicate them to Papa Legba and put that bowl of keys on whatever altar you are using for work.  Believe me, he will love them and it will help unlock many doors for you!  πŸ˜‰

  • Who put the work in spell work?

β€œOpportunity is missed by most people because it comes dressed in overalls and looks like work.”

    β€” Thomas Edison

Greetings, everyone!  Hope you are all ready fo a great weekend!  I know we have talked about this before – the work of spellwork!  However, I do think the subject can be revisited over and over again and still be of value!

All too often I hear people say that they think things like our spell kits are "just too much work." It is always a sigh-inducing, eye-rolling moment for me because that statement generally comes from someone who just told me they would do ANYTHING to get Jack (or Jill) back into their lives.  Of course we offer solo castings with most of our spells (where I do the work for you), and that is a fine choice for those who are truly too busy (lots of folks working two jobs these days!)  or do not have the privacy to do spell work.

However, I fear that sometimes people choose the solo casting just because they think doing their own spell work is just too much work!  That is troubling because in the category of "doing anything" to get Jack or Jill back in  your life could involve some work!

It could involve spell work!  It could involve working on yourself.  It could involve working on your relationship, but if you aren't invested enough in the relationship to do some work on it, why do you want that relationship in the first place?  I dont' have the answer to that – but I do think it is something worth thinking about!

And let's not get confused about you good folks who occasionally need a break from spell work or adjunct work!   There are those who just don't want to do another doll session or light another candle… they are just sick of spell work at the moment.

Now that is something different!  Sometimes a little break from spell work is a good thing.  It gives you time to refresh your spirit, look at the spellwork with fresh eyes, and regain your energy.  The best way to take a break from spell work is during the break to assess the break itself; are you feeling good about the break?  Are you feeling that this is a time for you to renew yourself and your purpose? The biggest danger in taking a break sometimes comes in the form of not knowing when the break should be over.

I always tell the folks to whom I recommend a break to be on the look out for signs that their break is over.  If you are longing for your voodoo doll, or you start to miss the comfort and ritual of your candle magick, or you feel an incredible pull back into the work - those kinds of things are clear signs that your break is over!

Lately I have been literally bombarded with stories of clients and the success of their spellwork!  :-)  Needless to say, that is always amazingly awesome to hear!  As I have mentioned before, I do notice a very common thread in these success stories – these are very often folks who were dedicated to that work, had a real heart for it, and stuck to their guns even in the face of adversity.  Their success is inspiring!

So if the spellwork is seeming too much like work, then yes, take a small break, but never take your eye off the prize! πŸ˜‰  If it is worth having, it is worth working for!

    Love,light, and peace,
    Mambo Samantha Corfield

  • Get Creative!

    Hello!

I wanted to let you all know about a little product tip I have recently discovered.  I was doing some work with the Baron and Maman Brigitte over the winter. It was cold out, and dark all the time, and I was really having trouble focusing on some projects I was working on. I felt stuck, blah, Shortly after completing my service, I happened to pick up a vial of Spellmaker's Voodoo Sexual Essence Oil and dabbed a little on my wrists. First, let me just say that the scent is AMAZING! Then, something else happened – the work which was feeling blah before was going better – I felt more creative and motivated than I had is quite some time. Then it hit me – who else would be at the center of creating new and exciting things ? The Baron and Brigitte, of course! They are all about creation! Now, when I set out for work in the morning, or I feel stuck on an idea or way of thinking that needs an "outside of the box" approach I dab on a bit of this oil,  and let the new, super creative ideas start rolling :-)  This oil would be great for artists, writers, etc, who are looking for some creative inspiration. But you do not need  to be an artist to benefit from the creative boost  this oil provides!

  • Get Ready for a Walk through the Chakras.

    Hello All!

I hope you all have been enjoying your Autumn. I just returned home last week from a visit with Mambo Sam and Parran Matt for Fet Ghede and more πŸ™‚ It was a really wonderful ten days, and even though it was a whole ten days, boy it went by fast! I have alot to report, and alot of photos to share, including a really awesome trip to a local New Mexico cemetary which included a big sign from my dearly departed Dad. Lots of new posts to come!

As I get back into the swing of things here, I would like to start off with some information about the Chakras, and how they influence our life and our well being – both physically and emotionally. I have a series of articles ready, which will walk us through each chakra, it's associations, and also the life issues which may be manifesting if we have a chakra that is a little "out of whack." This will be something that we can discuss over a few weeks, and I really do welcome questions and comments. Please feel free to post a comment here on typepad, or on facebook, or even email me directly at bridget@spellmaker.com

Chakras are energy centers within the body that affect our physical,
emotional, mental and physical well-being. Chakras come from the
Sanskrit word meaning "wheels of light." Chakras are like a blueprint of
energy for individuality. These energy centers hold a vibration and
    color, like a human rainbow.

There are many ways that can help balance your chakras (and we will get to this!)
But first, do you know if you're out of balance?

    When you work on
the chakras that are closed or weak, you'll be directly influencing that
particular area of your life, for example, finances, sex life,
self-esteem, compassion, expression, intuition and spirituality.

    Are
your finances in trouble? Are you feeling insecure? Do you need to
perform better at work and get that raise or promotion? Strengthen your
    Root or 1st Chakra.

Do you want to spice up your sex life or feel more passionate and creative? Unblock your Sacral or 2nd Chakra.

Want to feel more self-confident and powerful in achieving your goals? Strengthen your Solar Plexus or 3rd Chakra.

    Want
to feel more love, be able to forgive past grievances, and connect
better with your spouse, kids, friends and co-workers? Work on your 4th
    or Heart Chakra.

Afraid of public speaking? Want to be able to express your truth and be understood? Balance your 5th or Throat Chakra.

    Want
more inspiration on which path you should take in life? Want to
increase your intuition and psychic abilities? Open your 6th or Third
    Eye Chakra.

Want to feel at one with all there is? Have more peace, harmony and connection to spirit? Work on your 7th or Crown Chakra.

    If
you want to get balanced, get centered, get energized, get relaxed, get
inspired, get clear, get connected, get going… chakra healing can be
your answer. When your chakras are balanced, your life will also feel
    balanced.

When we learn to balance our chakras, we learn to craft
our lives the way we want them to be, rather than living in constant
reaction to forces outside of us.

    These spirals of energy are
wheels that heal, feeding the body good energy and relieving it of that
we do not want. Chakras cannot be held, stroked or bottled up like a
genie, yet our physical bodies soak them up thirstily and they
profoundly affect our metabolism, emotions, sensations and behaviors. In
addition to their roles in the physical realm, chakras work on a higher
plane, waking us to the realization that our body, mind and spirit are
    forever and inextricably linked.

Ok, that is enough for one day! Please look for more new posts to come, and even some new products in the works as well!

Hope you all have a wonderful day!

    Love

    Sister Bridget

  • Coconut Fun!

    LampsJune12 014

    Hi There!

With all of the Spellmaker Family  Papa Legba Festivities going on this month, I have been looking for some new and different Coconut items that Papa might enjoy. On my last trip out, I came across these three.

Trader Joe's Toasted Coconut Cookie Thins — these cookies smell divine! They look incredibly scruptious!

Coconut Water with Pulp — I found this at the local health food store for less than $1! It has real pieces of coconut in the bottle. I always seem a bit clumsy when I try and cut open a fresh coconut myself, so I think this is a neater option for me πŸ™‚

Voorman's Coconut Cookies — found these at the dollar store! It is a rather large bag, and these cookies are chock full of coconut and also smell heavenly.

These are just some examples of new coconut items I thought Papa might like. He also like Mounds bars, rum, coffee, all of the usual suspects! We have a bit more information about Papa here, in our Information Board. Remember, anything offered with a grateful heart is fanstastic πŸ™‚

For more information about the monthlong rituals to Papa Legba, please see www.spellmaker.com/legba.htm

Also, our Spiritual Power Magick Prayer Group is focusing on Papa as well this month! Please join us on June 27th!

    Enjoy!

  • Today’s Magickal Music

Happy Friday!!!  :-)  I hope you are planning a wonderful weekend!

Our first magickal music musing was about Heart's "Magic Man."  Thanks to those of you who posted some replies and thoughts about who/what the sound reminded you of magickally!  Everyone's ideas were right on! There is, of course, no right or wrong answer – the right answer is the one that is right for you.

For me personally that song always reminds me of Papa Legba because  to me he IS the magic man… for without him, no magic gets done!  I also like the little implication of the trickster, but in a good way – like he mesmerizes you and you love it!  ;-)  However, certainly the thoughts of other male lwa easily come to mind – Ogoun, the Baron (also with his slick, sexy ways), etc.  So good answers one and all!

Today's song for discussion is "Magic Carpet Ride" by Steppenwolf!  I had a lot of fun putting my thoughts together on this one regarding what and whom this song brought to mind for me!  I will share them after I hear from all of you!  Can't wait to hear what lwa, product, or spell this brings to your mind! πŸ™‚

    Lyrics:

I like to dream yes, yes, right between my sound machine
On a cloud of sound I drift in the night
Any place it goes is right
Goes far, flies near, to the stars away from here

Well, you don't know what we can find
Why don't you come with me little girl
    On a magic carpet ride
You don't know what we can see
Why don't you tell your dreams to me
    Fantasy will set you free
Close your eyes girl, look inside girl
Let the sound take you away

Last night I held Aladdin's lamp
And so I wished that I could stay
Before the thing could answer me
Someone came and took the lamp away
    I looked around, a lousy candle's all I found

Well, you don't know what we can find
Why don't you come with me little girl
    On a magic carpet ride
Well, you don't know what we can see
Why don't you tell your dreams to me
    Fantasy will set you free
Close your eyes girl, look inside girl
Let the sound take you away

Don't know what we can find
Why don't you come with me little girl
    On a magic carpet ride
You don't know what we can see
Why don't you tell your dreams to me
    Fantasy will set you free
Close your eyes girl, look inside girl
Let the sound take you away

  • Fun with magickal music! πŸ™‚

Greetings everyone!   I thought it might be fun to do a little project over the next several days to look at some popular music where lyrics refer to magick, witchcraft, etc., in some way.

Obviously, there are a lot of songs that refer to magickal happenings in different ways. However, I would like for us to discuss how we feel the songs that I will post here over the next couple of weeks, remind us of certain lwa (our voodoo spirits).  Tell us what lwa the song reminds you of and why!  It is okay if the song reminds you of more than one lwa, or even about a particular spell kit or product that you have used!  Let's hear it what it is/was! πŸ™‚

I am excited to see what you all think!

We will start with an old favorite:  Heart's ever classic "Magic Man"

    Here are the lyrics:

Cold late night so long ago
When I was not so strong you know
A pretty man came to me
    Never seen eyes so blue
    I could not run away
It seemed we'd seen each other in a dream
It seemed like he knew me
    He looked right through me
"Come on home, girl" he said with a smile
"You don't have to love me yet
    Let's get high awhile
    But try to understand
    Try to understand
    Try try try to understand
    I'm a magic man."

Winter nights we sang in tune
Played inside the months of moon
    Never think of never
    Let this spell last forever
    Summer over passed to fall
    Tried to realized it all
    Mama says she's a worried
    Growing up in a hurry

"Come on home, girl" mama cried on the phone
"Too soon to lose my baby yet my girl should be at home!"
"But try to understand, try to understand
    Try try try to understand
    He's a magic man, mama
    He's a magic man"

"Come on home, girl" he said with a smile
"I cast my spell of love on you a woman from a child!
But try to understand, try to understand
    I'm a magic man!"

So what lwa came to mind for you? Or was it more than one lwa? πŸ˜‰

    Love to all,

    Mambo Samantha Corfield, www.spellmaker.com
