  • Knock Knock – Guess Who is Here!

That's Right! The Papa Legba Ritual Pack  is finished and ready to ship! From what I hear, Legba was VERY meticulous about what and how he wanted things to be – JUST PERFECT of course!

Because we so often call upon Papa Alegba to help us with our communication with other lwa, we might almost forget to call upon his own great abilities to help us. Have a path that seems blocked to you? Doors won't open for you? Having troubling making someone you love understand what you want? Stuck at your own crossroads of life and don't know which way to turn? Our dear Papa is there for that and so much more! Few other lwa can offer as much comfort and understanding as Papa. His shoulder is there for us to cry upon; his arms welcome those who need safe haven. Few things are as satisfying spiritually as spending an evening doing a great service to Papa Alegba!

Mambo and Matt  have put together a wonderful Ritual and Service package dedicated to Papa. This package not only includes instructions for a full authentic ritual, but also includes candles, special oil and incense developed on the point of and under the direction of Papa Alegba through Mambo Sam, veve, picture, and a number of unique and wonderful sacred items that have been dedicated and consecrated to Papa. Once you have this, you can do the ritual to Papa over and over again! There will be no need to purchase this package again. The ritual will be yours to use and you need only replace the oil, incense, and candles as needed!

    Order yours today!

  • New Beginnings……it’s never too late.

    20099639

Happy 2009! With the Inauguration earlier this week, and so much talk on the tv and news and web about reinventing America, about banding together and helping each other, it really got me thinking about new beginnings and what that means to me.

The more and more I thought about it, I dont believe its EVER too late for a new beginning, to begin reinventing oneself, to head for a path full of light rather than dark. Sometimes I have been stuck in quite a funk, or a rut, or what have you, just like many of the people that write me (Believe me when I tell you I HAVE been where you are, and I do know what you are going thru!). This time of year is especially bad, as it is when we often see New Years Resolutions go by the wayside, the days are short, and in many areas, the weather is bad. It can be a very low time for people. And the whole Resolution gig – who came up with that? Not anyone who lived in today's chaotic world!

After surfing the net a bit, I came across the idea of something called a Personal Mission Statement. Some of you business-minded folks might know about Mission Statements as they relate to businesses and corporations. Well, a Personal Mission Statement isn't all that much different. It is a mission statement, or collection of affirmations about how you want to live your life. What values guide you? What long term goals do you desire? Think of a personal mission statement as a new years resolution that you have a lifetime to work towards – that if you stray from your path, the next day you get up and dust yourself off and turn your compass back towards your mission statement.

Over the next few blogs, I will go over the steps to writing a personal mission statement, and if you have any questions, please do post them in the comments. You can even post your results after each step if you like 😉 I think that would be encouraging to others as well! I am really looking forward  to this process, and I hope you enjoy it.

On a side note – those of you with the Winter doldrums have no fear — February is coming! I know, I know, I hear you, February is still Winter……. BUT it is also the month of the Spellmaker Family month long ritual to Erzulie Freda! And that ALWAYS warms things up where ever you may be! Keep your eyes pealed for an email from Mambo Sam about Erzulie Fest 2009!

        Readings with Sister Bridget

As the initiated daughter of Mambo Samantha Corfield and Parran Matthew Corfield, Sister Bridget has received sacred tools and spiritual blessings of a true New Orleans Voodoo family directly from Mambo Sam and Parran Matt. This will aide her greatly in assisting you with these readings.

Sister Bridget was initiated into the family of Mambo Sam and Parran Matt as a Priestess of Ogoun. Under the guidance of Ogoun and teachings of her initiation, Sister Bridget can offer you different types of readings as well as being able to burn a special Voodoo lamp (with complete ritual) to Ogoun on your behalf. Information on all of readings and ritual offerings are below. If you still have questions after reading all the information, please write directly to Sister Bridget at bridget@spellmaker.com and she will gladly answer all questions.

    *****NEW*****

911readings now available! please see www.spellmaker.com/bridget.htm

TAROT READINGS: While she does specialize in love readings, Sister Bridget can read for you on any subject that you desire. If you have done spellwork with us here at Spellmaker, she can also help you in obtaining guidance regarding the effects, efficacy, and possible challenges of your spellwork.

Readings are offered either by email, in a secure chatroom, or by phone. (Please note that doing your reading in the chatroom does allow Sister Bridget to send you a transcript of the reading for future reference. This is highly recommended) Explore the world of tarot with Sister Bridget! We promise you will not be disappointed in her skill, spiritual gifts, and kindness.

PENDULUM OF OGOUN READINGS: You may now also order either separately or with your tarot reading, a Pendulum of Ogoun reading with Sister Bridget. Sister Bridget will use her sacred pendulum to Ogoun, along with “answer charts” in order to get you guidance directly from Ogoun. With these pendulum readings it is important to know that this is Ogoun’s answer to your question, not Sister Bridget’s interpretation of information for you. She is going to ask the question directly to her power guardian lwa, Ogoun, and get the answer from the pendulum as it is guided by Ogoun. When you order a pendulum reading, please plan on discussing with Sister Bridget how to frame your questions to get the most accurate answer.

To order a reading please see http://www.spellmaker.com/bridget.htm . Be sure to follow the link in the confirmation email to fill out the form with your information.

Help with phrasing questions for Tarot:

For sure, we when coming into a reading, as a client you will have things you desire clarification on.  Knowing how to phrase questions well will help you get the most possible benefit from your reading. Here are some basic guidelines.

The Tarot will give you an overview of a situation and let you know what will happen if you choose to either do nothing and continue the way you are going, or take another path. The tarot itself is more about insight and guidance that black and white answers. Open ended questions seem to work best.  Here are some examples:

Can you give me insight into …

What do I need to understand about …

What is the meaning of …

What is the lesson or purpose of …

What are the circumstances underlying …

How can I improve my chances of …

    How might I …

    What do I need to know about . . . ?

What internal and external influences are affecting my goal to…?

What is the next step I need to take to achieve . . . ?

What is standing in the way of my . . . ?

    How can I best overcome the obstacle of . . . ?

    How can I be a better . . . ?

Which is the best choice between . . . ?

Asking closed ended questions limits the scope of advice that the cards can lend.  Yes and No questions can be asked, but that then leaves us asking yet another question about what to do next.  The cards themselves do not give specific names, places or dates.  Although, general time frames can be interpreted by a skilled reader 😉 (We can address timelines in another post!) And always, if you are having trouble framing a question,  just describe what it is you wish to know about, what information you are seeking, and we can work together on phrasing your question. No worries!

Keep in mind that there are always challenges and obstacles in life and the Tarot never gives an inevitable outcome but, rather, a possible one based on the circumstances presently surrounding your question.  Readings of any kind should be used as a tool to help you in deciding what to do next, what you can work towards changing, and what you decide to accept as your destiny.  In other words, if you get a reading that doesn’t seem particularly good, what can you do to change that?  If you couldn’t potentially change your future, then we at Spellmaker wouldn’t be here working so hard for you and with you!

  • Abre Camino Oil !

Resurrecting an oldie but a goodie! Enjoy!

    Hi There!

I was sitting here trying hard to think of some wonderful idea to blog about and I just instinctively picked up the closest vial of Abre Camino Oil I could find and rubbed just a little on my wrists. Then, AHA! I realised I needed to put down a few words to talk up one of my most favorite products (Just ask Mambo…I would order this stuff by the quart if I could!) The literal translation of Abre Camino is "Road Opener" so that gives us a hint as to its properties. This oil is all about the removal of blockages, "opening roads," making things happen more smoothly and more quickly. It can help us open the door to new and better options for our future. Mambo Sam personally blends this oil at the shop herself, so you know it is made with the best essential oils and energy possible!

So, how can we use this wonderful stuff? Some ways I use this oil are:

***Blend with Samantha's Spiritual Annointing oil when doing White Candle Magick to help remove blockages and negativity and open the way for healing to occur.

***Place a capful in bathwater and soak for a bit just before going to bed. This is especially helpful for folks trying hard to remember their dreams or using one of the Vivid Dreams Gris Gris Bags.

***Placing a few drops on your pulse points when entering a challenging situation or are feeling blocked in any way about any thing (like writer's block).

****Mix a few drops with any potion or oil that you might wear for an enhanced effect.

***Place a few drops on the top of your St Expedite candle and concentrate on what you want that candle to "hurry up" for you while you rub the oil in.

***Rub a few drops on the candles for your love doll or cosmic voodoo egg .

***Possibilities abound! You almost can not use this oil incorrectly! If you have any questions, or have an idea you are unsure about, just run it by your caseworker!
