• Experience?

    Inspirational-quotes

    Hi everyone!  Okay, so yes, we have all made mistakes.. probably some real doozies!  I know I have.  So, my question is this:  Have you made mistakes that you truly feel would now be called "experience?"  You don't have to share the exact mistake, of course.  However, I am curious to know how you feel about this.  Are some mistakes something that you truly learned from and it benefited you later OR would you prefer to have never made them in the first place, useful or not?  Is "learning from your mistakes" just a pretty way of saying that you screwed up royally and now are trying to get some benefit from it?  Or was the benefit real? 😉

  • Look within.

    Inspirational-quotes-1
    Get to know the wonderful you!

    I was speaking to someone today about the "God Within" – that which lives in all of us and is there to guide and nourish us.  If you can find that within yourselves, you can accomplish anything. Find your God Within and it won't matter what other people think, or what anyone else thinks you can or can't do. Once you truly know yourself, you know everyone you need to know.

  • Yes You Can!

    CAN'T – A POEM BY EDGAR GUEST

    Can't is the worst word that's written or spoken;
    Doing more harm here than slander and lies;
    On it is many a strong spirit broken,
    And with it many a good purpose dies.
    It springs from the lips of the thoughtless each
    morning
    And robs us of courage we need through the
    day:
    It rings in our ears like a timely-sent warning
    And laughs when we falter and fall by the
    way.

    Can't is the father of feeble endeavor,
    The parent of terror and half-hearted work;
    It weakens the efforts of artisans clever,
    And makes of the toiler an indolent shirk.
    It poisons the soul of the man with a vision.

    It stifles in infancy many a plan;
    It greets honest toiling with open derision
    And mocks at the hopes and the dreams of a
    man.

    Can't is a word none should speak without
    blushing;
    To utter it should be a symbol of shame;
    Ambition and courage it daily is crushing;
    It blights a man's purpose and shortens his
    aim.
    Despise it with all of your hatred of error;
    Refuse it the lodgment it seeks in your brain;
    Arm against it as a creature of terror,
    And all that you dream of you some day shall
    gain.

    Can't is the word that is foe to ambition,
    An enemy ambushed to shatter your will;
    Its prey is forever the man with a mission
    And bows but to courage and patience and
    skill.
    Hate it, with hatred that's deep and undying,
    For once it is welcomed 'twill break any
    man;
    Whatever the goal you are seeking, keep trying
    And answer this demon by saying: "I can."

    "End of Poem"—————————————

    Happy Sunday one and all!  Remember that you CAN! Whatever it is, you truly can do it. I really enjoy this poem because of it's strength in railing against the "can't" attitude.  Written in the 1800's well before the "new age" movement of watered down affirmations, this tells us to HATE the word "can't," to fight against it!

    I love that! Now don't get me wrong, I love a good affirmation as well as the next person – but there is something wonderfully invigorating about this poem and it's healthy hatred of the word can't! 🙂

  • Share your Ogoun stories with us!

    Hey there!

    Do you have a favorite story about our beloved Ogoun that you would like to share? Recently, I was speaking with a friend and she relayed an incredible account to me about how Ogoun helped her through a very difficult situation.  It got me wondering who else out there might have an Ogoun story they might like to share. If you have an experience you would like to share, please do so here in the comments section 😉 Also, if you are on Facebook, you could post your experience here.

    Looking forward to reading about your adventures with Ogoun!

  • Milk of Damballah White Bath Ongoing Possibilities!

      White bath (2)
    Happy Saturday, everyone!  As Sister Bridget recently mentioned in her blog, we now have “refill” or “replacement” packs for our Haitian Vodou Formula Baths

    One of our most popular baths, the Milk of Damballah™ White Bath is something that I have actually been recommending to certain clients for years as something that can be re-done in parts.  Most of the time these clients were folks who were working on especially hard love case, tough job or money goal, anything that seemed fraught with ongoing negativity.  In those cases, I recommended that they do the original bath and then buy another one and take the herbs out of the herb packet and divide the other part of the bath mixture and do a refresh on the bath over several days or weeks, as necessary.

    In those cases, I recommended that they just use a little bit at a time any time they were feeling down or sad or negative about their particular case, no matter what the reason.  Having done the original bath, they could easily call back on that energy.  The great thing about now having the refill packs is that you no longer have to keep buying the complete white bath if you have recently done one.

    One thing, however,like Sister Bridget said, we hate to keep harping on it, but you must first do the original bath before using the refresher pack.  If you don’t, you are wasting your time using the refresher pack. 🙂  Also, if it has been more than a year since you did the original bath, I would suggest redoing the original bath in its entirety if you have not done any refreshers.  However, if you are doing refreshers regularly, you can just keep going with that!

    Especially with the white bath, it would be nice to think that you would be rid of negativity forever!  What a world that would be!  Unfortunately, we are all bombarded by negative images, thoughts, and energies almost every day of our life.  Getting rid of them can lead to better health, attainment of goals, lifting of depression and so much more.  Yes, sometimes you have to work at it, but the results are so worth it!

  • GOD AS THE BOOGEY-MAN.

    Hello, my dear readers!  Recently a friend of mine came to me with some issues of spirituality regarding a family member.  This particular family member was having various symptoms which led her to believe that there might be a spiritual component to the symptoms and after discussing it and coming to the conclusion that there were spiritual components, we started to discuss appropriate treatments.

    As I always do in these situations I asked her, "Is Fred more of a God person or more of, oh, say a Universal Energy type person?"  My question was based on the fact that many people, while spiritual, balk at even the word "God."  It has come to mean something unpleasant to them, or unbelieveable, even.

    Over the years I have come to the conclusion that so many adults have turned away from the idea of God because as children God is used as a threat against us.  We are taught to fear rather than revere. So as adults, why would we turn to someone/thing that has been used against us?  God has been used as the boogey-man!  Why would we try to find comfort there?  Many, many people just do not and, instead, if they are left with any spirituality at all, tend to find more comfort in the idea of Cosmic Consciousness, Universal Energy, that kind of thing. While I think that is fine, I feel that many people are missing out on the God Experience.

    I think God has been given a bad rap. Don't be afraid – embrace the idea of something bigger than yourself!  Embrace the idea that "God" can mean whatever you want it to you.  You don't have to follow the God beliefs of someone else. God is so powerful that you can choose to tap into that power in a number of ways.  The God of your childhood is a grown up now, just like you!  So don't be shying away from the God in your Heart, the God Within, or the God Without; the comfort of the God energy is universal, powerful, and free for the taking.  You only need to open up your heart and mind to it!

  • New Product- Refresher Packs for Vodou Baths!

    Great New Product!

    Ever wish you could soak in the waters of your favorite Haitian Formula Vodou Bath again, but completed a full ritual bath not so long ago? Now you can! Vodou Bath Refresher Packs are now available.  These are NOT the full bath kits. This is
    the herbal bath mixture ONLY.
    All the herbs used in the baths are organic and the baths refresher packs are prepared in the traditional Haitian way. These should only be used if you have
    already done the original bath kit at least once. For instance, if you
    have done a Milk of Damballah™ bath kit several months ago and you are
    feeling the need for another one. You can choose to either do the whole
    bath kit again OR use the refresher pack to just call back upon that
    same energy again. Again, sorry to repeat myself, but these are not the
    full bath kits – just the herbal bath mixture for purposes of
    refreshing an older bath kit you have already completed.

    Thanks Mambo Sam!
