Hello~
Seeing how we are in the middle of Papa Legba month, thought it would be nice to share some songs with each other that we use when working with dear Papa. Please feel free to post a reply and let us know what song(s) you find that Papa really likes. You never know, there could be a prize again this time….
I'll start, tho its one we all know about. And kudos to Khouzhan Athena and her lovely video!

Hi there,
I have updated this photo album to include pictures from yesterdays ritual to Papa Legba and St. Anthony. It was such a wonderful experience and the energy was awesome. And we get to keep on going all month working with Papa 😉 Hope your experience was as splendid as mine! Enjoy the photos.

It
is time for our free Papa Alegba rituals to be done in our
Spellmaker offices! We will do this ritual in our office on June 13,21,
and 29, 2010. You can be included in this ritual in many different
ways: You can send in an email and ask for your petition to
be presented in our rituals. There is no cost for this! You can also
choose to do the ritual below on that to tap into the group energy of
the days we will be working or on any other day you desire – also free!
You can also choose to use Papa's Ritual Pack on any or all
of his special feast day or any other day you desire! You can use his
special bath on these days! You can use his special oil and
incense and do a ritual of your own to honor him! There are lots of
ways for you to participate at this special time of year when Papa
Alegba is being honored all over the world! The choice is completely
yours!
For details please click here!
Its not too late to join in! Hope to "see" you there!
Perseverance seems to be a theme near and dear to me lately. When I came across this poem by Maya Angelou, it really spoke to me….I hope you find some inspiration in it as well.

by Maya Angelou
Does my sassiness upset you?
Why are you beset with gloom?
'Cause I walk like I've got oil wells
Pumping in my living room.
Just like moons and like suns,
With the certainty of tides,
Just like hopes springing high,
Still I'll rise.
Did you want to see me broken?
Bowed head and lowered eyes?
Shoulders falling down like teardrops.
Weakened by my soulful cries.
Does my haughtiness offend you?
Don't you take it awful hard
'Cause I laugh like I've got gold mines
Diggin' in my own back yard.
You may shoot me with your words,
You may cut me with your eyes,
You may kill me with your hatefulness,
But still, like air, I'll rise.
Does my sexiness upset you?
Does it come as a surprise
That I dance like I've got diamonds
At the meeting of my thighs?
Out of the huts of history's shame
I rise
Up from a past that's rooted in pain
I rise
I'm a black ocean, leaping and wide,
Welling and swelling I bear in the tide.
Leaving behind nights of terror and fear
I rise
Into a daybreak that's wondrously clear
I rise
Bringing the gifts that my ancestors gave,
I am the dream and the hope of the slave.
I rise
I rise. I rise.
Here are some photos about a new skill I learned on my last trip to visit Marran and Parran.
Enjoy!
